Update: ordered another bag they were so great! Updated: 6/17/2017 I'm ordering yet another 5lb bag. These are much loved in our household.You will notice these pistachios are brown: like pistachios are supposed to be.They are not dyed dayglo lime green.You will also notice these taste like those red painted pistachios from Iran we used to be able to buy in the US three or four decades ago.These are Turkish and very good.The lime green ones in the stores and TV commercials are a weak derivative of the Iranian ones but suffer from being grown in a different climate (California not Iran) and they are processed and packed with salt. Those nuts are basically gas station and vending machine style junk food. Salt and fake visuals vs being real.THESE pistachios are great. They're actual food, and my family considers them a delicacy. I'm glad I can find these online, because around Detroit it's just those bland (and then way over-salted to cover up) neon green ones in tiny black bags that are ten bucks each.I'm not a food snob. I pound RedBull all day long-and even I can tell the difference. Subtle nut FLAVOR vs mega salt.These showed up in like 2 days too.Still not convinced? Give someone a bag of those lime green fake pistachios as a gift and they'll think you're insane, "what, was the vending machine out of Snickers?" Give someone a bag of these and you'll probably get texts asking where they can get more! I've been eating Antep pistachio nuts for over 60 years and thought I would try these. Although the nuts are not the typical California nut, they don't appear to look nor taste like the Antep nut. The nut is larger and lacks the strong flavor of the Antep variety. I remember about 10 years ago when I ordered Antep nuts from a reputable company that I had ordered from several times before. The nuts were advertised as Antep but were larger and didn't taste like Antep. Called the company and they apologized because although the nuts were Antep as advertised, the nut was the Antep variety but grown in California, hence the difference in flavor. The nuts here recently ordered are described on package as Antep and product of Turkey, so I just don't know how to explain it except the taste is not the same as the Antep nuts that I'm familiar with. They are much better than the California nut but not nearly as good as the Turkish Antep.

These pistachio nuts a very good. I will order them again in the future.

Good value. The item is expensive but you get a lot of pistachios with the 5lb weight. The quality is good and I like these so much more than California variety

As with any nut, try not to eat more than one or two handfuls of them at any one sitting, if you can control your appetite for these gems of the nut world.

Texture is hard and stale. Salt content ..what salt is a better a question. I normally purchase these Turkish Antep pistachios from Nuts.com however the quality had become poor with respect to the lack of salt and many are hard and stale. I tried Amazon and there is no improvement from those purchased from Nuts.com. I am disappointed in the quality and I guess the Turkish Antep is bad no matter where they are purchased.
