A great read for teachers/ tutors/ interventionists
A great read for teachers/ tutors/ interventionists. I am a resource specialist teacher, and I love it! It gives background knowledge about different key components of math/ common mistakes made by students, simple repetitive activities, and lots of recommendations for different activities practicing all different skills. I have only read chapters 1-4 currently, but so far it has been amazing. Next year I plan on completely restructuring my lessons to follow the core areas of this book.

Theoretical and Practical
This book is a must have for any educator teaching elementary math. It teaches you how to really think about the way children learn mathematically and then gives you very practical guidance and activities to support them as learners. AWESOME resource... was the foundation for a recent PD session at my school that was well received!

Great addition to this series!
I am always looking for books that will enrich my understanding of how children develop mathematical sense and understanding. I have read and used the other 3 books by Robert Wright et al, so I knew I'd want to have this one too. Like the previous books, this one provides guidance into what children need to know and common misconceptions they may have. There are numerous activities -easy to implement with few materials, in most cases - that you can use to work intentionally towards specific learning goals for each child. Some of the reading is a little dry, so it's not what I'd call an "easy read," but it is clearly written and very helpful if you're working with students who struggle with number sense development.

An intermediate version
YEAH, it's a great tool for the intermediate teacher. We know early intervention is important, but when the needs are still there in upper elementary, we need a tool also.

The content of this book is fantastic! However, if you purchase the Kindle version you are unable to access the resources that with the physical book come on a CD. Renders this book disappointing!!!
