I sew children's clothes and christening/baptismal gowns. These scissors make cutting fabric as easy as cutting soft butter with a butter knife! The action is precise and effortless, even when cutting heavier upholstery weight material. I've also found them easy to use when cutting multiple fabric layers of the same pattern template. When cutting silks and fine fabrics, there are no snags--the edges are sharp and very well aligned. Even if you do not do a lot of sewing, you'll want to add these to your collection. I agree with the manufacturer's recommendations to keep them the scissors in the box when you are not using them--it makes it far less inviting for a spouse or children to use them on paper (horrifying to use fabric scissors on paper!). I'm so particular with these scissors that I have a different pair to use for cutting patterns. These are truly my go-to scissors. These would make a very nice gift for the seamstress/sewer/designer in your life in addition to getting a pair for yourself!

Disappointed
I opened the box and was disappointed to see "made in China" but thought I would give them a fair try. I was disappointed again as they are no sharper than my 10 year old Gingers that have been sharpened for their last time. They take more pressure to cut than my old scissors as well. I would rather have paid the same amount of money for a higher quality pair of scissors and skipped the fancy box which I will never use.
