Awesome little switch with Fiber uplink
When you need to run fiber for long distance connectivity this little guy will do the job. Being as this is outdoor in an enclosure and needed connectivity about 800ft away, fiber was the only solution as copper just wouldn't do the distance and wireless signal was just to week for my needs. This was Able to connect my very large storage shed (more like a little house/workshop) from the main house that was about 800 feet away and never could I get a strong connection until I found this. The connection speeds are 1gbps and I can now connect my computer and wireless access point to this and get fast internet as well as access to every other home network device I have running. It has been out in the full summer sun as well as cold nights and it still preformed perfectly. The added bonus of this switch as you can have a battery backup attached to it incase of a power failure but this switch will keep on working for as long as the battery lasts. excellent switch a I would highly recommend it.

It works great.
First I’m going to address the elephant in the room. This product does not come with a power supply. It is designed for you to provide your own power, and backup power. Also at the time I ordered and wrote this review the description does say power supply is sold separately. For my purposes I didn’t need a power supply as I have plenty. Also don't forget to remove the black plastic protector before plugging in the fiber cable.Which brings me to hooking up your power supply to this product. Make sure you follow proper polarity. I can’t state this enough. Hooking the device up with the wrong polarity can potentially damage your product. If you have any doubt as to which wire is V+ and which wire is V- just grab a multimeter (sometimes called a voltmeter). Set the multimeter to VDC and measure the voltage with the adapter plugged in. Make sure not to touch the wires together and cause a short. Take note which multimeter lead is on which wire. The red lead will be on the positive V+ wire if the reading on the multimeter is positive. The red lead will be on the negative V- wire if the reading on the multimeter is negative. Then just plug the wires into the switch as appropriate. They are labeled V+ and V-. You will need a screwdriver to install the wires. I did test both the power inputs to ensure both worked on my device. However I will not be using the secondary power input. Finally the input voltage is listed as 9-36 VDC. I used a standard 12V2A adapter which worked great. Now onto the device. It comes with a generic manual that seems to cover multiple products. This can be confusing for people not understanding what they are reading doesn’t apply to their product. So for that I am counting off one star. The generic manual might be cheaper, but on more complicated equipment it can be more confusing and generate more tech support inquires. It just is not a good idea to save money, and more importantly it can confuse the customer. The manual was 34 pages, and maybe three pages relate to this product.I tested each port on the switch. All four ethernet ports worked, and more then just plugged in to get internet access. I transferred a 25 gig file to measure both speeds and give the port a more extensive test. I got the speeds and performance I expected. I will note the switch was fairly warm to the touch (but nothing close to hot) after I finished testing the last port. Therefore not anything that concerns me, but something worth noting. In my usage this switch will be unmanaged, and need to operate in an uninsulated garage. This means basically outdoor temperatures without having to worry about the outdoor elements. Here is where some may think the title and the description of the product is misleading. It states in the title and description that the operating temperatures between -40 and 85 C (-40 and 185 F). Remember that while 85 C is 185 F, -40 C is also -40 F. The title and description is correct. With that it works great. I am happy with the product and will get it off my test bench and installed into its permanent location soon. I'll also update this review if anything relevant occurs.
