The Complete Daily Curriculum for Early Childhood: Over 1200 Easy Activities to Support Multiple Intelligences and Learning Styles

This is a wonderful compendium of great, practical ideas for teaching a preschooler. My sis-in-law is an early childhood educator and she says it's right on target for what 3-5 year olds should learn. It's well laid out- both pleasing to the eye and organized. Worth the investment!

This was a great book to use, and help me set up a curriculum for my homeschooling preschooler. FULL of good ideas, easy to read, the flow is properly set up, I used this book through the year. This book is more for a "school" setting but I had no problem tweaking ideas/discussion topics/games/activities/etc. for homeschool.

I like that the patterns referenced in this book are not in the book but are found by downloading them from the publishers website. This book is thick (416 pages) and if the patterns were found in the appendix, it would be difficult to photocopy them from the book; these patterns are all black and white. The appendix contains the following topics: Family Letter (English), Family Letter (Spanish), Materials needed, songs, fingerplays, chants and rhymes, tongue twisters, games and dances, props and concentration games, cooking recipes, art and craft recipes, stories, story map. The lesson plans in the books are arranged by topics (units), which consist of 5 to 10 daily lesson plans. For example, the unit on shapes contains a daily lesson plan for circles, a daily lesson plan for ovals, one for rectangles, one for squares, and another one for triangles. Each daily lesson contains suggested read-aloud books, most of which should be available from a public library. The unit on colors provides ten daily lesson plans and one color is taught each day. Each unit contains assessments. Most of the lesson plans are appropriate for children who are 3-4 years old or for primary grade Intellectually Disabled students. The lessons are likely not very challenging for students who are 5 years old or older. I am a Special Education teacher and purchased this book in an effort to find some interesting, creative activities for my young intellectually disabled students.

It appears to be a comprehensive resource for me to use in the early childhood classroom. It is well set out and has lots of ideas and rhymes linked to each topic.

This has been a very helpful resource in planning home activities for my 4 year old and 2 year old sons.

This book is a great way to plan your lessons it's very easy to use and it has a lot of activities

Because of the title, I was hoping for something that would outline a curriculum day by day. But this book confuses me a little. The table of contents lists activities by subject (World of Animals, Sing me a Song, Whether the Weather) and then at least 10 to 15 activities for those themes. I am not sure whether the author intends these activities to be taught in order or whether it is intended to pick and choose based on interest or your own ideas. I assume each activity could work independently, but I was looking for a curriculum that teaches skills and then builds on them. On the several occasions I have sat down with this book, I have been unable to tell if the later activities are in any way dependent on the earlier activities.That being said, this is a beautiful book. It is arranged nicely, has song and supply lists, recipes, templates and letters to families. There are assessment tools at the end of each theme. There are LONG book lists. Each activity describes morning circle discussions and centers for art, dramatic play, gross motor, language, math and music.I really look forward to figuring out how to use this book. If I have missed an organization key to this book, I will update my review!

I love this book, it's full of ideas and great activities to work with the kids.The classroom has a great learning enviroment.
