Exactly what I've been looking for
I purchased a Stack On in wall gun cabinet awhile back and it came with a keyed lock. I've been looking for a digital combo solution to retrofit it with, but haven't been able to find one that worked / fit. This unit has come up on my research a few times but I couldn't swallow the cost. Ultimately however, after multiple failed attempts at cheaper solutions I decided to give it a try. It fit perfectly, works as intended, feels of high quality and I'm very happy with the end result. While a bit pricier than I wanted, it ultimately is exactly what I was looking for, and I feel confident in its quality and design. Compared to similar in wall cabinets with built in digital entry I'm still leaps and bounds ahead financially.

Great lock but check neck length for your application
Excellent quality, well documented. I'm using this with a steel cabinet and the neck was too long - had to fab a 1/4 in spacer for the front. Also the cams it came with were no good for me. I managed to adapt the old one from the key lock I was replacing. Worked nicely in the end, but took a bit of work.

Are you looking for security or a novelty?
The entire housing is made of plastic. The cam shaft is metal, but as you can see in my pics they take it down to a 1/8" cylinder covered by a plastic piece that fits inside the "dial". This also appears to be a very soft metal they use. One has to wonder if not on purpose why would the center of the entire thing be connected with a weak metal (pewter?) cylinder. Mine broke without any human interaction. It was used in a center console safe and one day it just stopped working. However, having opened it up and seen this it tells me that I can just turn the dial and snap it with little effort. With the housing being plastic I could break into anything the lock is on with a screwdriver. Even the good reviews, people don't realize it, but are pointing out these weaknesses. I also had trouble removing the plastic sheet from beneath the battery. I had to mar up the plastic to get it out and that was with me being careful. This is no different than the lock that costs 1/5th of this price. You get a bunch of plastic with both. At best it is a visual deterrent and a fun toy. So I'll ask you this.... Are you looking for a cool little lock to show off to your friends or a secure, metal housed, cam lock to protect your valuables? You should probably look elsewhere. No cam lock has super powers, but at least make would-be thieves put forth a little effort.

Best product ever, yet battery will not come out & battery life info set wrong expectations
Update 12/14/16: I contacted customer service about the issue and they responded within 5 minutes. Problem is not solved yet because I'm still waiting for the replacement item, but I'm bumping up the review for. 3 stars to 4 in the meantime because of their good customer service.12/12/16: I want to give this product 5 stars so badly but there is one critical error on the unit I received, and that is I can't for the life of me get the battery out. It's not that I don't have access to the battery, it's that the battery fits so snugly that it won't come out. There is not any place on the plastic that lets you wedge the battery out.I've been testing the lock non stop just because I was so excited about how cool it was. I read 10 year battery life in the description and foolishly thought I could get ten years of battery life. While I was using it, I found that the device was malfunctioning, only to realize it was just low batteries.Years is a terrible way to measure the way an electronic device is measured for its battery life. The product description should really rate the battery longevity based on the number of times you can unlock the device. Based on my use since I've received the product, I would say it lasts around 100 unlocks which is actually pretty good considering the size of the battery, and better than pretty much every other product out there. The batteries are also cheap on amazon, so that is a major plus for this product. (If you can even change the battery)The two gripes I have with this product is how the information surrounding the batteries set misleading expectations, secondly how the unit I received has a battery that is impossible to replace.I will gladly take the time to re-rate the product at 5 stars and give the most glowing review if the company can get a lock to me that lets me replace the battery. I'm returning the currently one I have through amazon, and hopefully I'll get a one with an interchangeable battery and I can give this product the 5 stars it deserves.- Theo

Worked great until the delivery person broke the knob off
It worked well on our package delivery box for 2 years. But recently the UPS (or FEDEX) delivery person twisted the plastic knob and broke it right off. Not sure if the plastic just weakened over time, or if the lock got a bit tight (and it needed extra umph to open), or if they tried to turn it the wrong way. Wish things were made of metal - perhaps that's expecting too much. It probably deserves 4 stars, but at $80+ for a lock, I wouldn't expect it to break from what appears to be normal use.

Lock was easy to install and liked the options available for programming
May 18 at 1:39 PMInstalled this today on one of our lockers as a test. Lock was easy to install and liked the options available for programming. We set up the user code and the manager code for the coach. We like the size of the lock that was not big, square and bulky like others we have purchased in the past. Buttons are ergonomic and easy to use. Well designed and we will be ordering more of these for the rest of our lockers.
