Melanoma Excision Scar Treatment
I have two new scars from melanoma excisions. They're large and very dark / bumpy in spots. Both on my thighs.I really like the sun protection as sun is detrimental to healing. It's white and thick and stays put, even during a shower. The plain scar treatment does seem to help with lightening, but I am also wondering if it's caused irritation to my scars. It's almost like it caused blocked pores or ingrown hairs. I stopped using it for a few days, and the irritation also stopped. I think I may have started using this kit too soon after stitches were removed. My advice would be to wait a month or two afterwards to begin the treatment.

It takes consistency but it's working
I've had some moles recently removed and wanted something to speed up the scar healing process. This is doing the job so far, and the spots are lightening up nicely. These are new scars, so that may be part of why this is working well. I have also been putting it on an old biopsy scar and haven't seen improvement yet. I do think waiting for it to dry is kind of a pain, it takes a good 5-10 minutes before I can dress. Since it says to use it twice a day, it's more time standing topless in my bathroom than I'd like. The little sunscreen tube seems superfluous, and I don't think it adds value. I think it's probably just a reminder to use sunscreen on exposed areas.

Three Months
So far, I have not seen any effect from using the gel. I note that one of the ingredients is silica, which can act as a skin whitener. I have not been using it for three months. We will see how it works out. The sunscreen contains the same ingredients as the gel with the addition of titanium dioxide, a sun blocker and whitener. It is even used to make white paint.

Effective!
I have a scar on my knee from a months-long psoriasis flareup. While the flareup has died down, the area where it used to be is discolored and rough. I have applied Cetaphil and coconut oil to get this scarred area to soften and fade away; however it has not worked. With this cicamed scar gel, only one application and it is noticeably softer and not so rough. I have been applying it once a day for a week and this scarred area is beginning to show improvement. I apply the cica block when I'm wearing shorts out and I can tell that it's working because this area doesn't look darker than the skin surrounding it.
