PolarPro Anti-Reflective Brass Step Up Ring - 77mm-82mm

I started out ordering the 77-82mm Step up right; having been frustrated with cheaper kit step up rings locking in place or sticking to my filters. These PolarPro Step up rings are much more expensive; but the experience using them is entirely different.They thread onto my lenses without any crunchiness; even without cleaning the threads before use. The rights are a little chunkier but that allows them to have solid knurled grooves you can use to unthread them with your hands and not needing to resort to a filter spanner. I suspect that making them from brass helps reduce the friction and stickiness that cheaper steel rings have.After getting the 77-82 have also ordered the 72-82 and 67-82 to cover the other lenses I use. I do rate them 5* as they work and have lasted more than a couple of uses in sun, sand and rainy conditions - without ever once losing a filter or needing to use a wrench.

Nice and solid with an easy to install and remove action. A tad on the expensive side but better than getting one that isn't brass, which will expand and shrink more with temperature and possibly even warp making it very difficult to remove from the lens threads.

I’ve got a couple of other sizes of these (67-82 and 77-82) and they’re great. This one seems lower quality and as you can see in the first photo it’s not anti reflective like the others. Either polarpro dropped the ball on this particular size(58-67) or it’s fake. I’ve got a lot of polarpro filters, from screw in to the new summit filters and this is the only thing I’ve felt was poor quality. It still works though so will keep it but only because I can’t be bothered with the hassle of sending it back.

Perfect fit, easy to install, great build quality and so easy to remove due to the ribbed design (unlike many other cheaper brands that are smooth, which makes those cheaper brand step rings a pain to take off the lens).I would recommend these to anyone. Only down side with some of polar pros lens filter items are that you can’t use your default OEm camera lens hoods.
