The Avian Haven is a unique, patent-pending hut that hangs over your bird's existing perch, enabling your bird to rest and sleep in a natural perching position. Unlike other huts on the market, the Avian Haven does not have a fabric floor for your bird to catch a foot or toe in, which is a documented cause of injury and death to pet birds. Research shows that parrots benefit mentally and emotionally from having a place of privacy in their cage to escape to, rest, nap, or sleep, additionally, many birds enjoy having something soft to snuggle up against. The Avian Haven hut gives your bird both. Our attractive hut has four sides like a human house, with a chimney on top and a window design on the side, and an open bottom that accommodates tail feathers of any length. Over the large arched doorway is a sign proclaiming Home Sweet Home. Inside the Avian Haven hut, your parrot will find a back wall of snuggle-able, thick-pile Sherpa that provides a plush place to sleep and relax against. Birds who are reluctant to enter the confined space offered by most other huts and tents find the spacious interior of this roomy hut very welcoming and comfortable. The Avian Haven hut is endorsed by a Board Certified Avian Veterinarian.

My bird ate it
My bird loved this, but mostly as a chew toy. Didn't last a month

Our chainsaw of a cockatoo did not like it and chewed it up
Our chainsaw of a cockatoo did not like it and chewed it up ! It really did not fit well in his cage either. For our bird it was a waste of money. It is big and roomy inside, and it does take a lot of room up on the perch.

My birds ignored it completely. I left it in there for a month and not even one use. I threw it away because I would have had to pay return shipping.

Not designed for birds that are chewers (most parrots/cockatoos)!
While the concept behind this item is good, it simply is not practical if you have a bird that is a chewer (translation: large beak that is skilled at chewing things; i.e., macaws, cockatoos, and other members of the large parrot family). I purchased the extra large one of these things, and my umbrella cockatoo chewed this apart in less than a month. She destroyed 3 of them in 2 months. It begins by the bird chewing the internal insulation. She ripped that off then began chewing holes in the hut itself. Soon, it looked like Swiss Cheese and eventually fell apart. It doesn't matter if you provide plenty of chewable toys for your bird, either, because I keep an ample variety of toys and rotate them in and out of her cage, but she still chewed this hut to pieces.
