Illustrated Everyday Idioms with Stories, Book 1 Perfect Paperback – January 1, 2003

This "Everyday Idioms" series is great for self-study at an intermediate level. The books include not idioms specifically, but chunks such as idioms, phrasal verbs, expressions, etc. It offers chunks, gives a couple of short, easy examples followed by little practice exercises and finally a story for each chapter. Easy on the eye and fun to use. My only criticism for Series 1 is that it is sorted alphabetically, so you get - in lesson 1 for example - a couple of, a long time ago, a lot of, a pair of, above all, according to, etc. all rolled into one lesson, most of which are not related.

This book is amazing!Very easy to understand and teach the idioms to my students (I also bought the Cd's). It was very difficult to find this collection out there and I finally found it at Amazon!I am pretty happy with this purchase and impressed with Amazon fantastic service. Great book for at home study, and good for everyday English teaching for teachers. Need to get #2 in conjunction with #1. Great set, colorful, good explanations.

This book is appropriate for whom are in intermediate level. However, it is a useful book and the method of teaching is very useful like the second one from this serious.
