Very helpful
My African Grey could not tolerate the collar for the first couple days, I had to take the bird out of the cage and hold in my arms like a newborn baby. It took about one week for the bird to calm down and accept such restriction, but it was worth of that. The collar provides good combination of mobility and restriction, my bird is back in the cage, sleeps on perch, eats and drinks well and I am very happy because feathers start restore. Highly recommended product, but first week requres strict supervision, as it was according to my experience.Oh, yes, I forgot to mention about fixation of the collar, so I edit my review: that is true - manufacturer should explain better how to fix it, there is no clear explanation, but I was lucky to have close friend, who is engineer and he found out it easy otherwise I would never be able to fix it properly - it is not screw, it works like clip, very easy and secure, it holds the collar as a solid unit and it takes just one click to close it, when it is applied properly it holds really well. And I applied the collar with no help just in a few seconds because of that configuration.Update after 16 mo of wearing the collar, my bird finally managed to crush it and only a few days without it made my room full of feathers on the floor, so I am rushing to get restock, definitely very helpful device. Yes, they can reach wings in this collar but it completely blocks breast area, which is really life-threatening for selfplucking. So, it is our life saver.

Little barbaric, too hard, very tight, and unsafe!
The media could not be loaded. Very hard to apply with one person. Fits really really tight, and my bird Kept falling of the perch every time she fell asleep! Instructions seemed to reflect placing it upside down compared to other videos I reviewed on YouTube. The way it the instructions reflected placing it caused pressure on her food pouch, so she hasn’t been eating much. After a day of wearing it, and giving her some time to get use to it, I eventually decided to remove it in the middle of the night, because Sally kept falling of the perch flat on her back! She would not eat, nor sleep, and just kept on falling. At one point I thought she’d break her neck!Ending on a positive note; she definitely was not able to pluck!!

Update! Purchased for a Moluccan cockatoo
This is a last resort purchase for our Moluccan cockatoo that has a major plucking problem. Every other “cone” we’ve purchased she’s destroyed in minutes - if not seconds. Even very expensive cones. This is the first thing we’ve been able to keep on her. The instructions are minimal - but I recommend the larger part of the cone be on top. The first day we had the larger part on the bottom and due to the irritation and still being able to reach her wings she bit off about the first 5 wing feathers on both sides. :( I should not have left her alone with it. I took it off her for a day and was ready to give up then saw that another person was putting the cone upside down on their cockatoo. This has been working for 2 days. I def think it isn’t super comfortable but for the most part she is acting normal and there are no feathers anywhere. I am going to make it a habit to take the collar off at least a couple hours a week if not a night while supervised. I will update this review in a month or so. Also we purchased size large and it fits nice. The plastic “screws” that came with it seem to be working as they should - we are 3 days in.2 month update: She is almost completely refeathered (see pic). Now we haven’t quite gotten to the point that she doesn’t wear the cone but she picks less and less everyday. Because she’s very trusting of us we have no issue removing the cone/collar and putting back on frequently. I take it off when she is being monitored and put it back on her when she is alone. Honestly I don’t think she minds it or even notices it anymore. Now we just need to figure out how to break the habit. I think we are getting there!

Make sure you have screws or zip ties
Screw that come with is garbage,Luckily I had small screw so I’m using that,Collar part I wish it a longer, my bird pick on her leg area hair and her feet, everywhere else have a beautiful feather but she bite her feet to bleed or pick on her leg hair so it still easily reach that area even I flip the collar it’s still too short,But she is busy trying to take this thing off and giving her a distraction at least, looks like she can break any minute so I’m ordering another one, wish this is not plastic….

Useless, and dangerous!
After my daughter and i tried for two days to get the thing on (even when we did, the "screws" wouldn't hold it), we finally got it on her. We got a medium, for an African Gray. Size-wize it was good, not too small, but, she was able to push it forward just enough to slide the bottom of her beak inside and get stuck, at which time, we freaked out almost as much as she did.A large would have had the same problem, and a small would have been too small for her. MAKE SURE TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM AFTER YOU GET IT ON (IF you're even able to!)!!!

Good producr BUT no spare plastic press-fit screws
The anti-bite collar is working with our African Grey but the product didn't come with extra plastic press-fit screws. When the collar is removed, the plastic press-fit screws can be easily broken and not reusable' therefore, the collar can't be reused unless metal screws or tape is used, which could make it harder to remove by the parrot if it has problems wearing it. Contacted the seller and was told they have no spare parts.

Has its place..
If my parrot allowed it to be it would of worked but she would of killed herself trying to get it off.. plus it through her off so she couldn't walk. Was a no go hence the 3 star

Overall it is good.
When the 2 halves are put together there is a sharp edge between the 2 halves on the bigger end. This could cause chafing of the top of the bird's shoulders if used with the bigger end on the shoulders. To correct this I assembled the collar and sanded the edge down with 400 grit sandpaper. It is a good idea to sand down both ends. Also the pins holding the 2 halves togther are not strong enough. My small parrot managed to spread the 2 halves apart. I enlarged the holes a bit and used small bolts & nuts to hold the 2 halves together.

Does the job with duct tape
So this helps my cockatoo not to pluck on belly or back but can still reach the top part of his wings, so I've made a round collar to sit under this one.Fell apart same day, the plastic "screws" don't hold so I decided to duct tape it closed. This holds it in place. Not the best product to hold together but it does help if held together with tape to keep your parrot from plucking.Thank you!
