Perfect for my 2 yr old who loves counting!
I got this for my 2 year old, knowing it was more advanced and something he’d grow into. He loves his giant bead maze, so I figured this would be a great way to introduce counting. I looked at the toys that have removable beads for counting, but I just KNOW he’ll lose those!! The regular straight abacuses look more simple, but I figured this would help with adding and subtracting someday! He loves counting the beads as he pushes them around the arch. Also great for teaching colors and working on numbers/colors vocabulary.As with all other Melissa & Doug toys, this is built really well and is a nice compact size. Very space saving compared to other abacuses.Highly recommend this for all ages! Hope this helps. 😉

Great Teaching Tool for Counting
My 2 year old has started counting and this has been helpful with practicing. He gravitated to an abacus at daycare, so knew he would enjoy sliding the beads and the sound. I also appreciate that it has addition and subtraction aids on the side so he can use this further as he learns in the future.

Perfect size for little hands/paws
Great, sturdy toy. I have no concerns about beds coming off and posing choking hazards, and they move easily. The colors are vibrant, though my raccoons prefer the shades of green and blue since those are the colors they see best. Would recommend this for furry and non-furry little ones.

Great for teaching counting!
This product is almost perfect. I got this to replace an older one I have that was held by the bars and the bars are falling off, different brands. This was the only product I could find like this! I never use the inserts, they are a waste, but I didn't want the product for that anyway. The only thing I would change is that the wood isn't finished, so you can't wipe it down without damaging it, even with a damp cloth, so I'm considering finishing the wood myself. I also wrote numbers on the side with permanent marker. But otherwise it's one of the best abacus designs I have encountered. I do childcare for ages 6mo-4yrs.

Long lasting fun
I purchased this almost a year ago now for my child and it has been played with almost every single day. (the photo is from today, you can see some toddler wear and tear on it, but not much!)My child loves this toy. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's good for fine motor skills, colors, and math if old enough. My child is almost 2 and just loves to play with the beads.
