Great book. If you want to go flyfishing for Tarpon but can't, then read the book, it's like being there and doing it youself and you don't have to leave your EZ chair. If you are a Tarpon Fly Fisherman then read the book, I'm sure you'll learn some things.The author, Bill Bishop has mastered this sport of fly fishing for the 'High Rollers' and you can too if you read the book.Bill has mastered every hobby he has had. He won 1st place in the State Wild Turkey Calling contest in Orlando Florida. He mastered being an artist as you will see from his instructive drawings in the book as well as the book cover. Read the book and you'll agree that he has mastered writing.I purchased several of the books and gave them to fishing buddies for Christmas gifts. They all loved reading it and they constantly thank me.Don Grace

This book is a wonderful blend of stories, humor, and information to give insights and techniques for increasing success catching the Silver King. The author's illustrations give clarity and precision that words alone might not convey. This book is a must read for anyone who wishes to chase tarpon on the fly.

Great read, great service! Bill Bishop is a talented artist, fly fisherman, and writer. As a wannabe fly fisherman for giant tarpon, I've learned a lot about this incredible species from Bishop's work (which he wrote after making a bucket list of goals following a major health crisis). In a more folksy down-to-earth style than some other tarpon gurus like Andy Mills, he has plenty of on-the-water know-how for hooking, playing, and landing this incredible fish. Based on years of fly-rod experiences in Florida, he shares interesting stories and keen insights that will help put a triple digit 'poon at the end of your fly-line. Plus, he illustrates the book beautifully with his own drawings. If you're going fly fishing for tarpon, I recommend this book.

Years of experience and knowledge crammed into a concise book with nice B&W line drawings, this book is a trophy. Keeping things simple, but packed full of information, Bill Bishop arms you with the information you need to hook (and possibly even land) a tarpon during practically any conditions you might encounter. Flies, leaders, anchors, and other equipment are discussed with enough detail and clarity that you can't help but start getting the itch to immediately put to sue what you've just read. I highly recommend this book.

Great book. Bill's book has useful info, history and stories.Met some of the people in his book over the years, Tommy Locke is basically a legend. Would love to fish his favorite grounds, Boca Grande but and hooked on Islamorada for the last nine years.

Good overview of tarpon fishing, not many books on this topic. Helpful to get an understanding of the process and techniques

Hal Chittum recommended this book, and so glad I got it. There is a lifetime of experience in here; will always treasure it and the illustrations. Couldn't put the book down once started on the read.

After reading Chico’s bonefish and redfish books I was hoping for more information. In particular, more info on food, behaviors, and tackle would be appreciated. Now don’t get me wrong, the book is definitely worth the cost, informational, and was enjoyable to read. I found the sections on presentations and fighting to be particularly insightful.

Lo encuentro muy básico y poco detallado en los puntos claves. No tiene información precisa sobre la biología, hábitos, especies de las cuales se alimenta etc.
