Q: I bought this and only been using it for a week and the lid has dislodged itself and I have been covered in coffee , any advice on what I can do

Yeah it's a screw on top. To be fair it's a quality cup for the price.

Q: Do you have to remove the whole lid to drink from it .

No, The cover stays on but there is a sipping hole (just like the coffee cups in coffee shops) on the top with a separate little flip top to cover that hole and prevent it from spilling when you’re not drinking from it. The flip top is also very strong and study and doesn’t leak.
