This supplement is amazing! I have a 12 year old Appaloosa mare who has an old hip injury and developed arthritis in her hocks from compensating. She had gotten to the point where she would not let me pick up her back legs at all, not even an inch off the ground...and of course farrier work on her back feet was next to impossible. She would try to pick up her foot, but would immediately slam it down in pain. I had tried several other supplements in the past with little or no results. I was just about to break down and just put her on pain meds, when GLC was suggested to me by a friend. Upon reading about it, I picked Actistatin instead of the regular GLC because it has a MUCH higher absorption rate. Literally a week after starting her on this, the farrier went MUCH better! She was able to hold her leg up through most of the trim, only pulling away a couple times. Next appointment 5 weeks later, she was perfect and has been since! Wouldn’t even know there was a problem! She will never be 100% sound because of the hip injury, but she can now live much more comfortably thanks to actistatin.

Excellent product for my senior mini horse and mini donkey. They are now up and moving about with seemingly no pain. Expensive but a little goes a long way and it is worth the price to see them up and about rather than lying down a lot before due to pains....

I know the people supplement works because I use it so I bought the horse version for my thoroughbred who has an old fracture and other osteoarthritis issues. My horse is definitely more comfortable and moves very well on this supplement. It's a bit pricey but very effective. The only reason it's a 4 and not a 5 is the price.

This is an excellent equine joint supplement and I do think it’s beneficial but since horses can’t evaluate, I have to guess based on my personal use of Actistatin for people that there is reduction of joint discomfort and I think benefits will be greater with longer use

I am very satisfied with the product itself and the shipping. The Actistatin is a great product. It worksvery well and shipping was faster than expected. My complaint and the lower rating is for Amazon itself not the seller. I used to to find it listed cheaper --$129.95 plus free shipping with a Prime membership instead of 149.99 without a Prime Membership. After weighing the cost advantage of signing up with a Prime Membership (in order to specifically get this product at the lower rate I had been seeing for several months), I signed up for a Prime Membership thinking the savings meant the membership would pay for itself over the course of the year. I was, however, only able to order it twice at that price because it's now gone up to $150 and is no longer listed as a Prime product from any seller. So much for the $120 savings I was thinking I'd get over the year with my Prime Membership. I understand that prices do increase at times but a $20 increase from one month to the next is substantial...and... it seems an odd coincidence that the price increase happened right after I signed up for a Prime Membership.

Although this is pretty darned expensive, you feed very little per day so it lasts a really long time I feel as if it keeps my retired show horse comfortable. I used to hear a lot of “ clicking” from his joints but things are much quieter these days. This is my second jar, by the way.

I have two horses with arthritis and this is the best product that we have used for them. It has helped them so much with their mobility.
