Sudhir Prakash, Chairman of Khongea and the Glenburn Estate in Darjeeling, states: “If Darjeeling tea is referred to as the Champagne of tea, then a good quality Assam garden such as Khongea produces the finest single malt whisky of tea”. This fine example of Assam is grown in the valley of the Brahmaputra River on the Khongea Estate near sea level, at area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. The climate varies between a cool, arid winter and a hot, humid rainy season—conditions ideal for growing tea. Khongea Estate black tea is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour. Khongea Estate is the very well-known garden for producing highest quality excellent black tea: TGFOP-1 orthodox big leaves and TGBFOP-1 with broken leaves. This particular tea is made as broken leaves tea, it means leaves are still processed by hands but are broken to create smaller pieces (fraction) and make them easier, less time taking to brew. Excellent choice for breakfast tea, special for everyone under time pressure at morning. Due a very high caffeine content (3 Grams of this particular tea contains 118 milligrams of caffeine, a strong cup of black coffee has about 120 milligrams of caffeine) this particular tea is commonly known as breakfast tea. The ever-popular English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast tea blends are made using this Assam black tea. As its intense flavours are not drowned out by the milk and sweeteners our Khongea black tea makes an ideal companion to milk and sugar in the British tradition. Packed full of antioxidants, Assam tea not only wins on taste but also on health benefits. Experiment with your own taste preferences as you explore one of the world's most significant tea. Cup: deep, burgundy-red Taste: full bodied, malty, sweet and pungent

Lovely, recommended!
Arrived promptly, the tea came in a neatly vaccumed package. It contained a very generous 200g, the taste is lovely. The cost of the tea was very reasonable, will definitely buy from again, recommended.
