Very Dark Red. Not nearly as bright as in the picture except under very bright lights.
The tray is fine, but the color in the picture is much brighter than the actual product. If I put the tray directly under my high intensity reading lamp. It looks close to the color in the picture, but under normal lights in the room, it is quite a dark red. I bought this to accent other red items in my room, but it doesn't. The tray is normal quality and not really worth the price if you are just using it for functionality. If you are using it for a decorative item, just be aware that the red is VERY dark under normal lighting conditions.

Does not appear as pictured. It is maroon or oxblood. Not bright fire engine red.

Great tray
The hand holds were a little rough. The color red is not a bright red or orange red but the old time-darker red. I used this tray and another tray in black for the top of an antique hand carved oriental bar to save the top of the bar from more scratches. Worked perfectly with the large size of the tray providing more room than the top of the bar alone.
