I was surprised with the amount of volume the small bricks expanded to. I have kept 2 blocks in adequate spacing between them based on my expectation of expansion. It expanded definitely more than that to break open the boundary with the pressure. Just simple loved it. Tip: use a metal bucket and probably big enough space and enough water to let it expand to its limit.
