Wow! Fabulous!!!
I didn’t want this book to end, and cried when it did. More than just a book of yoga poses, it was about how powerfully yoga can change your life. Colleen journey is raw, honest, fascinating and triumphant! And each quote was more perfect than the last. I adored this book, the one is have been searching for, for years.

Yoga for Life is a treasure!
Some people think it is hard to learn yoga by reading a book, after reading Yoga for Life, I would say there is no better way! I originally checked this book out at the library, but after reading the whole book (several times) in one week and filling my day with Colleen's fulfilling sequences, I bought a copy...and one for my Mom...and one for my Aunt...and it is already my number one Christmas gift.Colleen does an amazing job of inspiring the desire for peace and balance in a way that people from all walks of life can relate to. My husband has noticed a difference in my emotional calmness and if he senses that I haven't had my alone time with this book yet, he grabs the baby and high-tails it into the other room so that I can find my center again.Don't be apprehensive if you are not a yogi, this book is great for beginners! And for those more practiced, I feel I will be learning from this book for years. This is so much more than a book with yoga poses in it, the value lies in Colleen's way of leading you through the emotions that arise as you do the movements and learning to embrace and accept it all. It is nearly impossible for me to describe the state of mind I am in after completing one of her sequences but euphoric might come close. For those who love books, for those who love yoga, for those who love others, for those who love themselves, and especially for those who don't.

i sat down to read Yoga for Life after much anticipation as I pre ordered the book in February .. It is a must read for every yoga student new or experienced, young or old. I've been a long time student of Colleen and Rodney and this book confirms that I am in the presence of a very real, honest and true yogini. i can't remember the last time I devoured a book so quickly.. Colleen shares her story with raw honesty and weaves in yoga philosophy in such a way that it truly speaks to all our lives.. I am honored to know her, honored to learn from her on and off the pages of this book and grateful she took the time to write this .. this book has touched me in very unexpected ways.. Please do yourself a favor whether you teach or new to practice .. This book is for you

It is ... and ... is not
It's interesting to see people that we've either come into contact with on a personal level or through the media via magazines, movies, authors and other personalities and then be invited to read their story. I've seen Colleen my entire life as she's graced the pages of countless magazines and clothing catalogs. When I saw that she wrote a book, I wanted to know her story.I'm not a big fan of yoga simply because my exercise of choice in my past was aerobics and weight training however, I'm now 52 years old and somehow slowing down, paying attention to the subtle changes of my body and inviting a new way of responding to the requests of a slower and simpler way of life, is captivating me. I want to take the time to listen, intuit and acknowledge the amazing changes in my body and allow my soul ... my spirit to honor those changes. This book was ... and ... was not for me.It was an easy read. It was easy to interpret the exercises and easy to understand the positions. I appreciated Colleen's personal story and her raw account of the spaces and places in her life that she shared and then invited a series of yoga moves to support those places and spaces. As a reader and a seeker of a new way of responding to my body, I appreciated very much the interpretations of the moves and how they would support me. I loved that! This book was not an engaging read or a page turner. It's not that kind of book. It's very "Matter of fact" and shared in a way that told a story and that's all. It lacked insightful emotion that invited me to tap into my own spirituality and yet, the point got across and I got it!I love a book that I could replace the main character in the story with myself and then in turn, use the characters life lessons and experiences as a metaphor to my own enlightenment and healing. This book did not provide that for me. I am far from a model ... far, FAR!!! I am not a world traveler and I do not have any of the physical challenges that Colleen has experienced. I could not put myself in her shoes and then use her experiences to help me navigate my own life. I just could not identify with her and yet, each chapter unfolds an opportunity to identify with myself.I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone even though it lacked a few things for me. As the reader, it will satisfy all that you are looking for if you are seeking and it will support your physical body through the wide range of yoga moves. You'll get to know Colleen, her commitment to sharing yoga with the world and her passion to support and heal the world around her. It's a good read. You won't be disappointed.

Please Read This Book!
Original. Compelling. Funny. Sad. Showing the power behind Woman. Reads like a novel. It is life. The life of one woman, reflecting the lives of each one of us.Are you considering ordering it? Please, read this book. It will do you so much good.Colleen is deeply honest, transparent even. She doesn't need to paint herself as the hero of her story, or promote herself. Or apologize. Her life speaks for itself, lyrically, conversationally. How brilliant to weave yoga into the context of supporting life's path, in a real-time, here and now, gritty kinda way. It really, really works.I would just love to take a yoga class with Colleen. She's the real deal. No posturing ;)I'm so grateful that Marie Forleo had Colleen on her show to speak about this book. It otherwise would have been unknown to me.And so grateful to Colleen for having the immense courage it takes to allow herself to be an instrument through which others can hear a new song, via creating this book.

Compelling!
The book is written in a candid and honest style that really draws you in. Her personal story is inspirational for sure and she looks amazing for someone in their 50's! The body of yoga sequences in the book is very good and it is mapped out in a way that relates to the different chapters in the book. So after a chapter on say trauma... the yoga sequence at that follows is about poses to address that particular issue. Overall a book I would definitely recommend. It looks great on my coffee table too. :)

Magnifique
