The Amityville Horror [UMD for PSP] by MGM (Video & DVD) by Andrew Douglas

I watched the original & this remake over 2 consecutive nights.ProsUndoubtedly excellent & superior special effects (of course, that is to be expected).The lead actor (Ryan Reynolds) ......... phwoar. If he'd have kept his shirt off more, I'd have given it another starConsNot scaryI found it very disjointed with flashbacks & jumping oddly from section to section.*SPOILER ALERT*The pet dog met a horrible end (they didn't do that in the original)VerdictThe remake was consigned to the Charity Shop bag & I kept the original.

Since the original amityvilles as this is a remake with some edgy jumpy scenes. I don't envisage this having the same intensity and impact like the earlier ones as the the house layout is different.

Love it. Scary. Jumpy. Perfect.

I haven't seen this film advertised anywhere, I'd seen no adverts so I was really pleasantly surprised when I watched it!

Not the best horror i have watched but certainly not the worst

M George plays a brilliant part in this film. the remake of this true story I think is much better than the original, it has more on the edge seat moments than the James Brolin one. and Ryan Reynolds plays a fabulous part as well, its well acted by both of them.

I really liked this movie. It was quite typical of the genre with lots of sudden appearances of figures and such, but it was a good movie and was creepy. I doubt how much of it is true to the real life events though. Good movie.
