SAFAVIEH Soho Collection 7'6" x 9'6" Purple / Ivory SOH712P Handmade Starburst Premium Wool & Viscose Area Rug

I purchased this rug for a sitting area room that needed some additional 'pop' of color. This rug certainly proved to serve its purpose. It arrived quickly, as do all items purchased from Amazon. It was packaged and protected very well (as a side note, the box is very heavy, so keep some company around to help you carry it in). The colors are exactly what I expected; consequently, I got the rust/multi color. In fact, they were brighter and bolder than what is in the picture, which I appreciated. Yes, there were a couple, literally two, pieces of the burst that were coming out. This was no matter to me since it in no way affected the look of the rug. It happens with most pieces of carpet that are made with this type of material. Yes, it does shed the first couple of times you vacuum it. Again, not an issue for me since most types of materials shed with the first few cleanings (rugs, clothes, etc.). Speaking of vacuuming, this was my biggest concern since I have dogs. I didn't want to buy a rug that was going to fall apart after I vacuumed it. If you turn the spinners off, I believe this was a manufacturer suggestion, there will be no problems; it still cleans up nice. Overall, I really love this rug! It is a good price for a quality piece. It actually does hold up to heavy foot traffic. My dogs walk on it all the time. My son takes his cars and trains and runs them through it constantly. I have yet to have a problem. If you are looking for a bright, fun rug to add some life to a room, this is the rug for you.

This is one of the most unique rugs I have seen. I have been shopping for an area rug for living room area for months (both in-store and online) and came across this one online. I was hesitant to buy a rug online but after reading many positive reviews on a variety of sites that sell this particular rug, I purchased it. Amazon had the best prices online for this same rug (hundreds less compared to some other sites). Once it arrived (within a couple days) its quality and uniqueness was far beyond my expectations and is one of the best purchases I have made. The colors are vibrant against the dark brown base and the shag style of the bursts enhances its appeal. Everyone compliments it when they see it. I bought the 6x9 and like it so much I am purchasing a larger one as well for my dining room. It can really accent a number of decorating styles. Also, I have vacuumed it and have had no issue with the shag pieces coming out.

This is a really fantastic rug. The main part is plush and really soft, and the ribbon patterns are gorgeous and the texture aspect really unique. The colors are really beautiful, both in the ribbons and in the ombre effect on the main part of the rug. The rug arrived wrapped in plastic and then wrapped in an even stronger plastic, so I appreciated that it was well protected during transit. One odd note - there must be something about the materials that makes it act like catnip to cats. My cat rolled around on it obsessively for a good 15 minutes after she discovered it. There was some dust upon opening and I could tell it was irritating her ears and nose, so it might be best to keep your pets away from it until either you air it out or let it sit for a few days (my cat found it several hours after I had opened it and she was still reacting to it). I do think that some pets will be drawn to the ribbons and attempt to pull/close them out. My cat definitely tried right away and pulled one out. But I checked some others but pulling on them loosely and they seemed well embedded. My only sadness... I think the rug is a bit too small for my space and there's a $200 difference between the 6'x6' rug versus the 8'x8' rug. Which likely puts the larger rug outside my budget. So I'm not quite sure what to do now.

I bought this for my 15-year-old granddaughter who just got her own room after the family bought a new house. I was looking for something that could grow with her, that would fit her now, and would also work for her as she grew up. I just got back from visiting them and this rug is absolutely beautiful (so great looking I'm thinking about changing the color scheme in at least one of my rooms so I can get one!). Because it is wool, I know it will last for many years. And both she and my daughter love it. In fact, my daughter has already begun hinting. The design is subtle and very beautiful and the feel of the rug is great. My daughter was very surprised that this was wool with how soft it is. I will buy more of the rugs by this compeny and, if Safevieh is the designer, I will definitely be looking for designs by this designer! By the way, the price and speed of shipping is also superb!

I actually bought 2 of these carpets because i liked the design and how pleasant they feel underfoot. Visually, this is a super nice carpet. But... there's a BUT. The quality of these carpets is abysmal. They are impossible to vacuum and to keep clean. The carpets come apart, thread by thread, with every pass of the vacuum cleaners. The threads wrap themselves around the vacuum's roller, requiring frequent, frustrating disassembly of the vacuum to sort out. I thought this might happen the first time or two - but no! Every vacuuming, the vacuum roller is wrapped up in threads. I actually bought a new vacuum cleaner, a "gentle" one, because i thought the old one might be too rough on the carpet! Then i bought ANOTHER ONE! Nope: my bad, these carpets are garbage. Such a shame, because they look so nice on my floor

Not so happy with this purchase. The rug is beautiful but it sheds and the fabric for thr design comes out.
