What an incredible architect and human being -- I wish I could have known his work personally. Thank you for helping me via this book.

Hassan Fatḥy was/is a far greater human being than his legacy suggests. This is party of his own doing: he chose to centre his life and career on one and only one advocacy: build the way non-architects do. The choice itself is not the problem, but rather his unwavering attachment to it. The world is hardly ever as still or simple as to allow for Fatḥy's single-minded determination to vindicate his advocacy. This book echoes the master's weakness despite the author's best intentions.

Sehr schöne Zusammenstellung und Überlegungen von einem, der Hassan Fathy kennengelernt hat und sein Werk kontextualisieren kann. Kann man wirklich empfehlen!

Es gibt wohl nicht viele Bücher zu diesem Thema und auf diesem Niveau. Leider kommt die moderne arabische Architektur etwas zu kurz.
