Currently building a hidden room bookcase door. Although I'm a fairly handy guy, I hadn't previously built a hidden room door before. There seems to be a good variety of hinges, and I honestly didn't want to pay close to $100 for a hinge set. I felt like these hit the mark for my scenario and they were fairly cost effective. After receiving them and doing some initial test fitting, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. The hinges seem mostly sturdy, although I'll have to update after I install the bookcase and load it with items(no real initial concerns though). Hinge design seems nice and will be mostly hidden, just make sure you've got room to mount the top hinge or be prepared to modify the header of your doorway. I'm able to mount the bottom hinge without messing up the existing flooring or anything. I would say the only thing these hinges lack over the more expensive kits, is the set piece that holds the door either open or closed, which I didn't want since it would be one more thing you would see mounted on the floor. I would buy these again.

Number one; does not come with instructions or matching hardware to mount the hinge. No template for positioning or cutting recesses for installation.Number two (the real issues) the construction of the major components is robust but the critical "moving" arm for engaging and disengaging the top portion is quite flimsy and not crafted to the same quality.Third, the clearances in the components are too great and yield a sloppy (loose) fit!Unfortunately I have passed the point of return window. I do not recommend this product and will be selecting an alternative to this product to complete my project.While not a professional I am very skilled.

I used these pivot hinges for hidden doors on a couple of built-in closets. After some trial and error they do work very well. There is no adjustment in the hinge itself so be certain of the placement before mortising. They will hold a lot of weight and still operate smoothly.

This is crazy hard to install. I had to go with a different option because this was way to hard to install. So many better easyier options. No instructions just here you go, figure it out and wow these are hard to install...I wasted 35 dollars

I ended up returning the product because I went a different direction. But I noticed when I opened the box, it just contained the hinges and no direction as to installation. Not that I could of looked it up online, but it would have been helpful to get a visual of a basic install or even a template. Looks like a sturdy, quality product though. I would have used them if I had not changed my mind on the direction of the product.

The hinge looks of very good quality, however, has come with absolutely no instructions. I will try to figure it out from the sketch on the amazon item and the internet. Will update when I have tried...

My installation was different than the instructions show, but I worked through it and installed in very short time. Smooth operation!
