Solid Retractable Cord Reel
The reel is beefy. This reel replaced a reel where the stop-lock function had stopped working. I installed it on my garage ceiling joists and it was as easy as drilling two holes and screwing in the two provided bolts. The reel mechanism is smooth and the stop-lock works as it should. I purchased this after trying twice with the DEWENWILS Retractable Extension Cord Reel - both of those had a loud, grindy mechanism and faulty stop-lock. This one was well worth the extra $10.

The only heavy-duty cord real in this price range that I know of
The slow rewind is not as slow as I would like but it definitely doesn't whip all over the place if you release it and let it go. Very heavy duty. I have used several high amp items (13 amp angle grinder, heat guns for extended run times, table saw etc.) and have not had any issues with the reset tripping. Don't expect too much from the "lighted cord" as it is simply glow in the dark stripe that fades quickly once you turn the lights out. It does have the small led indicator on the side of the reel enclosure and the triple tap is illuminated. As you can see in my pic, it's mounted high in my shop at 16'. I just adjusted the stop to hold the triple tap at a distance I can reach comfortably (7'4"). That keeps it out of the way and not bonking me on the head when I walk under it. Like many have said in the reviews, I don't know how I've gotten by for 30 years of having a shop and not had one of these installed.

Purchased for a shop
We needed a longer and heavy duty cord reel for the shop. This was the answer. It works great and can reach a wide range throughout the shop. We’re able to use some power tools that would over heat the cheaper smaller gauge wire reels we had. Plus it was only around $100 when we purchased it

Almost perfect.
I've only had it for a short time now. The sale price of around a c note, got me to pull the trigger on replacing an existing forty-dollar one. (That is still working fine. I just wanted to move it to another location.) Like others have stated, it is not easy to hang. I ended up removing two screws that held the plastic end pins in place. This allowed me to remove the bracket and mount it first. I think if you were to mount it on the wall it would make it much easier doing this. I mounted mine on the ceiling. Overall it feels like a very solid unit. The cordage is very thick and the entire unit is relatively heavy. The only downside is that in my ceiling mount application, the offset angle of the wire opening, really only allows the cable to be pulled out easily from directly below the unit or the the one side. If pulled from the other angle the cord rubs against the housing. That being said, so far it seems like a quality cable reel. If this changes I will updated my post.

So far so good!
Works as advertised. Easy to install even for beginners. Reel retracts and extends smoothly. Thick 12Ga cable good for heavy draw items, don’t buy cheap 20Ga stuff. Good purchase so long as it keeps working (who knows).

Easy to install and use
I got this for my husband for his birthday. He is the hardest person to buy for. He is very picky about the tools and anything that he uses in the garage. He actually loved this 🤗🤗 He likes the end were you can have 3 things plugged in at the same time. It is bigger than his old one. I like how easy the retractable cord is. His old one you had to pull it back and forth to get the cord to go back in. I don't hear any more grumbling now when he needs an extension cord. Happy hubby Happy wife.

Works great
Retraction is smooth and holds while you’re using it and retracts reliably. Cord is thick and triple outlet feels durable. It’s a little challenging to install due to the weight if you don’t have help.

Good reel
Very happy with this cord real. It works well on retraction and holding. Haven’t tripped it yet running anything in the wood shop which means it’s very close to the true 15 amp it claims. Very happy

Seriously robust
Bought to replace a cheaper predominantly yellow one that I bought 3 years ago which has given up the ghost. To be fair it's my fault for running my table saw & shop vac through it which is far more current than it was rated for. I think I've fried the thermal fuse. This thing is a different level of sturdiness. It's considerably bigger and feels much more robust. The auto retracting mechanism is much better and the 2.5mm cable is obviously going to carry the current I need it to. As others have said these are tricky to hang using the bolts as there is very little space between the bracket and top of the device. Rather than take the handle off like I did with the last one I just got Jeff to deliver me some M8 hanger bolts and screwed 2 of them into the joists of the garage ceiling. It was then much easier to get an assistant to offer it up whilst a put a couple of nuts and big washers on the bolts.Time will tell how much abuse it can handle......
