Scrumptious, Fresh Taste!
I love this product! By far the best way of making strawberry preserves, peaches which are just coming in, and blackberry jam. My husband and I lived in Germany; when he was in the Service. I would buy many things locally, including the strawberry preserves. They were so much better than what we could find on returning home. I tried everything, Low sugar pectins, buying expensive imported preserves. I Googled and found this on Amazon! Thank The Lord! I have been making fresh strawberry preserves that have one half the amount of sugar, called for in the other pectins! It is scrumptious! My husband and I have gone through 6 half pints in three weeks! The taste is pure fresh strawberries! I make it with natural sugar, it comes out glossy, with chunks of strawberries! I am making more tomorrow and buying more of the Dr. Oetker today, to be ready when my peaches arrive fresh from the Orchard in Georgia!I highly recommend! Thank you, Amazon!carolintallahassee

Not so sweet marmalades, jams and preserves!
I really love this stuff. I was introduced to it in Germany by my sister in law. We always loved her marmalades and jams because they were not so sweet like the ones you find in the U.S. I brought some of this Gelfix Super 3:1 back with me on my last trip to Germany and after it was all gone I was so pleased to find it on Amazon! I don't really go by how much sugar they instruct you to use. I simply sweeten the fruit to taste (reserving a little bit of sugar to mix with the Gelfix) and then mix it all up and boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly, put into canning jars, turn upsidedown for 5 minutes, then rightsideup and let set till I hear the "pop." It is so easy and so delicious. It is very different from the product I have ever found in U.S. In my experience, I always had to add the sugar they called for or it wouldn't set up properly, but the Gelfix Super 3:1 seems to do well with very little sugar. It says you can also use a sugar substitute but I have not tried that yet.

Perfect for a not too sweet jam or jelly
This is my second year of making home-made jellies. Last year, I used the typical products available in supermarkets - sugar and pectin. The results were good, but the relation of fruit to sugar made the jellies rather sweet, and a trial with sugar-replacement rather failed. This year, my mother, who still lives in Germany, sent me Dr. Oetker's gelling sugar that uses a ratio of fruit to sugar of 3:1, and the outcome was perfect. I could not find the gelling sugar for sale here in the U.S., but I did find the Gelfix Super 3:1 and it works the same way - super easy to use and perfect in its result. One just has to mix one bag of the Gelfix with 350 g of sugar (= 12.346 ounces), stir it into 1 kg of fruit (2.2 pounds) and bring to a rolling boil for a minimum of three minutes. Fill into glasses - done! The jellies taste very fruity and not too sweet.

No more sickly sweet marmelades
When i moved to the US I found most marmalades too sweet. It's not only the calories, but the taste that put me off. With this product you cut the amount of sugar in HALF. Tastier, healthier marmalades. Tim: If your fruit is on the sweet side, add the juice of a lemon to help the marmalade set.
