The most gripping finale!
Another superb Blake and Mortimer story. This is the latest and one of the best Blake and Mortimer books. If you originally liked TinTin and want to move on to something with similar plots full of adventure then Blake and Mortimer are for you. The artwork is exquisite and stories just wonderful. A must for any true comic fan.

Too fantastic without anything genuine to offer
I’m very fond of the series Blake and Mortimer and thought that it was a great idea when they began to create new stories, based on the original characters. The new adventures started out with “the Francis Blake Affair” in 1996 and that was a great opener. The following two titles The Voronov Complot and Strange Encounter, were also great stories! The next double release however “The Sarcophagiof the Sixth Continent” I thought was a mixed bag: the first half was of the story was quite good, but the second book was a bit too far out.Following it’s been a bit of hit and miss, where “The Septimus Wave” is one of the worst examples of a bad meaningless story. This latest story falls a bit into this category and it appears to me, that they have grown a little weary of the whole thing - run out of ideas! Again the first part of the story is fine - more traditional, whereas the follow up conclusion seems a bit well, not grounded. We have giant Pandas and a dragon... fantastic flying machines with the ever present villian Olrik disguised as a professor. Mortimer’s true servant Nasir is a prisoner in the camp where Mortimer himself also becomes a prisoner - there is a lot happening, but a the same time nothing notable. It doesn’t really grab this reader... it’s too fantastic without anything genuine to offer. They really have to step up if this reader will continue to follow this series.
