Remarkable find; easily adapted to 3-wire
Cons:1. Line cord was two wire (line-neutral). Outlet is three wire (line-neutral-ground). This may be very important if you're in damp or wet environment and/or are using a GFI.+ .75 stars if they change over to grounded cord.2. Key-bounce problems. Not all "clicks" are recorded as actual key presses. Sometimes these stumbles call up hidden options like 'display line voltage'.+ .25 stars when they sample key presses more often, and wait longer before giving up the wait for the the user to press another key.3. Key timeouts too short. You must press a key at least every two seconds or things reset.4. Perceived temperature off a bit (0 degrees at 70f, 3 degrees 100) after unit warms up.Pros:1. Excellent price point!!!2. NT10k probe has is long AND socketed for easy replacement. I've successfully substituted two other probes.3. PCB well marked and has large holes for line cord attachment.For those who solder, replacing the line cord with a grounded one is very straight forward. The universal outlet socket has a nice tab to attach the ground.

May work but fundamental problems
This may work great and if I ever find out I will update this review. I assume the strange looking receptacle is meant to work in different countries with various plug orientations. However, it isn't made to accept 2 prong polarized plugs where one blade is wider than the other, so many plugs won't fit. The second issue is that it WILL accept 3 prong grounded plugs but the thermostat's male plug that goes into the wall is only a 2 prong so that any 3 prong cord that's plugged in will NOT be properly grounded which is not only risking whatever expensive appliance that is plugged in, but is also a fire and electrocution hazard.

Not for American plugs
It is not made for America plugs. I was swayed by the price but it does not work with our plugs. Wish I read the other review. I had to return. 3 stars for the price and look. 2 stars off for not working in America
