This gel is very good. I am impressed with the ingredients. It is difficult to find hair products without some kind of preservative. It absorbs quickly and completely and isn't stiff or greasy. Very clean feeling. Natural smell. This doesn't add a lot of volume to my very fine hair at first, but the next day my hair does feel fuller. And when I use this my hair actually stays cleaner looking and thicker even if I don't wash it for a few days.

The gel works for me I’ve been using the MGA Scalp Rescue Styling Gel for many years. I started using it when I wore a natural, curly, scrunch hair style. The gel left my hair with a soft, shiny, hold and it tamed my hair, leaving it without without the big pouf. Now I roll my hair and wear it semi straight with curls and the gel continues to work with my curly hair in a different styling capacity. There is no sticky feel, or flaking residue, or unruly ends, just manageable soft, hair. I don’t need to keep looking for other gels. This continues to work for me.

I have spent more money than I like to admit in search of gel that holds up in humid south Florida. This gel is perfection. Great hold, no flakes, no stickiness, and great second-day hair with just a bit of water. Small amount of product for soft hold, a bit more will form a cast that is easily scrunched out. And it’s great for my sensitive scalp. Love love love.

I chose this product because it was recommended as a good product for those with sensitive skin/scalp. PROs: A pea/dime size amount gently worked throughout your hair and left to set, created beautiful soft curls. Product did not require a large amount to get results. Bottle had a cap that ensured product did not spill or disperse product in a wasteful manner. I used with my argon oil and leave in without issue, before use. Note: You may need to give other products time to absorb before immediately using the gel -5 mins or so. CONS: Understand a pea/dime size amount is a generous amount, it will dry white and become flaky if too much is used. Once you see the white cast from the product it is too late. The product cannot be used along the hairline as it dries with a white cast. Product is great for wash and go styles, however you will not get more than 2 days, before washing the hair is required. My sensitive scalp did not like this product so I will not buy the product again.

I have been looking for (and spending a fortune) trying to find a gel that has good slip, was clean and not prone to build up -since I need it to refresh my curls daily between washes. I have high porosity, fine, frizzy, grey, 3B curly hair. This is my unicorn right now in the summer here in California. Dry and hot. Not sure how it will perform in winter when it rains? Summer is my most problematic time of year due to the fact my hair becomes very dry no matter how much I condition it. This gel smooths frizz and defines. It even seems to moisturize a little. It has a small amount of protein and it seems to make my hair is a little stronger. Just love this product for my hair type. I also love that it doesn't contain weird chemicals. My scalp has gotten sensitive to that stuff now that I am older. Love the scalp rescue shampoo too.

UPDATED AFTER 2 MONTHS OF OWNING THE PRODUCT I love this product. It is now my go-to hair gel for my 3b curls. Now, although I love the product, it is not perfect. WARNING: Always test this product before you are about to use it or mix into your hair. I recommend that you mix small amounts of all of the styling products you are planning to use in your hand before applying them. This gel does not always play well with other products. Pros: - Will re-activate after a little bit of water is applied (good for that second-day hair) - No sticky or tacky hair after it dries (it is a little crunchy if you put too much in but that goes away if you scrunch your hair) - More herbal ingredients than “chemical” additives in the ingredients - Silicone free Cons: - DOES NOT REACT WELL TO PRODUCTS WITH CITRIC ACID IN THEM ( if you mix this gel with any styling products that have citric acid in them, your products will start to “curdle” or create globs that your hair that means you need to wash your hair - again) - Contains a few “chemical” ingredients in it. ( My ideal hair products have a list of ingredients that read like a grocery list and not a mix of the periodic table. Overview of the product after owning it for 2 months: I still really like this product. It has its drawbacks and takes a little bit of a learning curve to work into my routine but I still like it and plan on buying it again. I really like that this product has little to no "chemical" ingredients. I wish this product did not make my scalp itch but it is the best I can find at the moment that works with my curls and a more natural alternative to chemical laden products. *TIP: Do not plop your hair when using this product. I have found that Plopping my hair with this product tends to make my scalp itch. Instead, I now make sure that the product does not touch my scalp or get near it when I apply the product. *TIP 2: Be very careful when you are re-wetting your hair for a second-day style. I have come to learn that this product makes my scalp itch. Now, I recommend that if you are going to reactivate this product that you re-wet your hair in sections and do not get close to your scalp. *TIP 3: I have come to learn that this product performs really well in my hair when I use OM Botanical Organic Conditioner. I get really good ringlets and next to no frizz when I use this conditioner before leaving the shower. *TIP 4: For a leave-in conditioner, I have come to find that California Baby Hair Conditioner - Super Sensitive is a great companion for this gel. California Baby's conditioner does not "curdle" the gel and provides my hair with some moisture. This product is a good alternative to Ouidad’s Advanced Climate Control Hair Gel.

This is The best hair gel I have tried to this day. Please note that if you want to look like Duran Duran then this is not the gel for you. It doesn’t leave or make your hair really hard/stiff, it just leaves it in a more natural way, yet still holds the hair just fine. It doesn’t create nor leave any kind of flakes. In my personal opinion is just a great product. I already finished my first tube and now I’m buying more I really like it. Oh by the way, I really care about how my hair looks 👌

I have long curly and frizzy hair naturally so I've tried MANY products to give myself nice waves and less volume. This included multiple gel, pomade, paste and mousse products. I must say that this one remains my favorite among all. It is lightweight, yet has a strong hold. I have to use more than a pea sized amount, in fact probably 4 to 5 pumps total for my long hair, but I really notice the difference. I usually mix this gel with a straightening cream or balm to relax my curls, but the gel definitely provides the hold that a balm cannot by itself. I also love that it doesn't build up in my hair or make it feel sticky, gunky or any of the other undesirable qualities. It also has a light, pleasant scent, nothing too heavy. It smells naturally and reminds me of spring. This is not a huge factor, but I also like the pump bottle - makes it much easier to disperse when my hands are already covered in product. I recommend putting this on damp hair for the best effect especially if you have wavy or curly hair. And of course, the absolute cherry on the cake is that it's natural and contains a lot less (if any) harmful chemicals. I can definitely notice that by the health of my hair.
