works well - not so
I used this to bridge my Iphone and my car's aux input.Sound quality is okay, it could be better. Base is weak.Connectivity is reliable, i used this as receiver mode; I haven't tried the transmit mode yet.The audio cable is the weakness here: It's flimsy, and after 1 month of use the cable shielding is begging to peel off where it connects to the plug, due to fatigue i suppose, even though the setup barely moves.I will need a new quality cable soon. Maybe it will improve sound quality too.Update: After 6 months of intermittent use. It cannot be discovered by bluetooth. You get what u pay for. In the trash can now

Too Wide, Sounds Muddy /UPDATED/
I bought this specific one because in the Q&A section, it says it requires a password but it's not in the instructions. I needed one with a password because my car already has everything built-in, I'm a rideshare driver and using one of these is easier than trying to have them pair to the car while I'm driving, and then it would take their calls and it would become a privacy concern. While parked there are random people in the city that like to mess with open bluetooth connections, they will play everything from explicit rap to porno sounds, and that is NOT something you want to automatically come blaring into the car while you have passengers. This one does seem to only play audio, so for now I might keep it. It won't be any different than the one I had before apart from not taking calls. I'll continue to search for something better though. As for the review title, I have a dual USB cigarette lighter plug that has a charge cable on one, and was empty on the other. This thing is so fat I had to wedge it in. It is not slim at all and if you have something not so slim plugged in with it, you may not be able to use it. The sound quality also lacks bass, and this is not an EQ setting as I've messed with it and it's still just, muddy. It's alright for what I'm using it for but, if you want this for superb sound, you will be greatly disappointed.SIDE NOTE: It does NOT have a button to switch modes. To switch modes, you will need to unplug and replug over and over for the LED light to turn from Blue to Red. Kind of a ghetto way of doing mode switches, and being the plug is kinda tight, it's easier said than done.UPDATE: Well, when it came time to use it for what it was intended for, this thing completely failed. Was a waste of money. I'd say, save your money and go with another option.

I bought 2 of them for TV's
Sometimes wife watches TV in bed...while I try to sleep, same thing the other way around. We needed to solve that problem. I bought this gadget, and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised how well it works...it connected immediately to the Bluetooth headphones. One important thing to remember...the RED light must be on for it to work as a transmitter. IF the BLUE light is on...unplug it and plug it back in...until the RED light is on....red flashing means it is pairing...steady red means it is paired with the headphones (or whatever you may be using as a receiver).

Overall worth buying
Bought this for my car stereo that conveniently has a USB port and 3.5mm input jack next to each other on the faceplate. It works, but there are few annoying kinks that need to be ironed out. First, the device switches from receiving to transmitting modes too easily. It switches when the power to it is turned off and on fairly quickly. When starting my car, the power to the USB port is turned off and on quickly so it switches modes often when I start my car. A physical switch on the BT adapter to switch modes would make more sense. Also, while it reliably connects to my devices, it occasionally (about 25% of the time) will begin distorting the audio in receiving mode. It's hard to describe how it sounds but the only way to stop it from distorting is to stop and start the audio on the device I'm playing audio from. Overall, worth the price. It would be perfect if those 2 things were resolved.

Works, be patient
Have to be patient with pairing, can be slow. Make sure in correct mode (transmit or receive). I have plugged into TV. Once connected does work rather well. Moving around does cause static.

Needs an AUX connection but still drops out
I asked if the Janboo would work only plugged in to my car's USB connector without also using the Aux 2.5mm connection and was told it did. It doesn’t work plugged in to the USB connector on my 2010 Prius which does work with my iPod and iPhone. The car doesn’t even recognize that an audio adaptor is plugged in to the USB connector. After connecting the Aux cable I could pair it and it does work but the sound is slightly distorted and it drops out a lot. It may be going back if the sound doesn’t improve.

Great for older Motorcycle bluetooth
I use this on my motorcycle to play bluetooth GPS and music from my iPhone into the aux jack on the motorcycle radio. It works very well, after the first pairing, it pairs immediately when the motorcycle power is turned on. I use a more expensive than usual cigarette lighter power source, I think that is necessary to not have buzzing from the power source. Mine is a 2003 Harley Davidson with the batwing fairing which has a cigaret lighter socket on the left side. I used a short audio cable with right angle plugs so this entire little rig is tucked away and almost not seen.

Great bluetooth thransceiver
I like to use a Cown Plenue as my music player. This is a wired only device. That's okay, I still have wired headphones. Just occasionally, however, I need to have my Cowon talk to a bluetooth device. The answer is simple: this thing. It plugs into the 3.5mm jack on my Cowon and talks to a bluetooth device. Brilliant. It's simple and easy to use. It sometimes takes a couple of attempts to get it to swap from receiver to transmitter but the indication is clear regarding which mode you're in. Highly recommended.
