During the testing the temperature of the battery pack never even exceeded ambient room temperature. To start your device charging you connect it with the proper cable and press the battery pack's power button and charging starts. The charging will stop automatically when your device is fully charged or the battery pack is depleted.4. This battery pack also features a LED flashlight built in that can stay on for up to 550 hours when the battery is fully charged. This is ideal for when you travel to have an emergency light in a hotel room, when looking for your keys or when in a dark movie theater.I highly recommend it.I'll update this review in a couple of months to see if the battery has a durable life.

So, overall, yes, it's very good. It is well made, feels like a quality item, works well, and priced right. What's the issue -- right?I wanted a battery pack to use with the BlkBox 12W folding portable solar panel (A fantastic product BTW), but since the panel only had a small pocket I was limited as to how physically big of a battery pack I could put in there and still keep it as one easy to pack unit. This pack had great reviews and physically fit the pocket so I bought it.Upon testing from a full charge state I found it was able to fully charge my "power-hog" 8" Vizio tablet to full, a depleted Sony PSP, and a few Samsung smart phones. This was s good test and I was pleased with the capacity.I ran it to empty, and charged it back up via the aforementioned solar panel. I had to span charging over two days since I started the experiment in the afternoon and only had about 5 sun hours left on day one. The next day it completed charging with about 7 hours of sun ( via my 12W solar panel).Comparing to a 2A wall charger, the recharge time is about the same at about 12 hours from fully depleted to full. That is not too bad given the capacity of the pack but also means it takes a good deal of time to recharge and if traveling, you need to consider that if it's out. I am not sure if feeding it with a higher amp hour charger would do anything to improve recharge times since there may be a control circuit managing it -- don't know.What I find to be a shortcoming is the very limited four light display. I would like to see more gradations (at least double) or real digits since the first light means somewhere between 1% and 24% which is large. Likewise four lights means 76% - 100% so you don't really know if you are fully charged or not.People asked about keeping it in a drawer for a long time and using it. All batteries discharge but at what rate I have not tested it, however, with the uncertainty of only four discreet levels you are only in the "ballpark" on knowing the levels and I prefer within 10% or better so I don't waste charge time, etc.I originally wanted a bigger pack but unless you can charge these things in less than a few hours, I believe that bigger (capacity) would not be better.

Item arrived on time and in good working order. It was a good value for the money at time of purchase as well. I got this as a gift for a friend that has every electronic gadget known to man and needs backup power for when they run low. It arrived charged and working right out of the box and is easily capable of charging 2 devices at once. It also comes with tons of adapters but I found these are easy to lose. Other than that this is one of the best power banks you can get for the money. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent product - I can usually get two complete iPad charges and a iPhone 6 charge before needing a recharge. The availability of a higher-amperage port is a massive plus, and charge times on this port for both iPhone and iPad rival that of my wall chargers.One nitpick - the pack doesn't seem to go into standby mode on its own, even when nothing is connected. I may have a faulty one, or this may use so little juice that the manufacturer did not see the need to include the feature, but I worry that the unit will be activated in my briefcase and run down without my notice. I've not had this occur, but it seems like it shouldn't have this issue.

I ordered this on November 7th and I believe I received it about a week later. Today is February 4th and I've tested this product out. It does not charge like it claims it does. Be lucky if you get maybe a charge and a half from 1 charge to unit. I have noticed the past two days that it just quit working. The fancy lights all light up but yet when you plug in the device to try and charge it it does not work. It's been in a protective case except when it's being used or charged so I do not understand how this could happen. All in all in less than 3 months it quit. Now it just became a $25 paperweight thank you so much!

7/29/2015So I purchased this product 12/25/14 with an Amazon gift card I received for Xmas. The original problem of the defective charging cord sent to me was quickly resolved by customer service but now 7 months later the unit only charges 3/4 of the way after being fully discharged. I have charged it fully 5 times charging my iPhone 5 and it worked great until now. The unit only charges 3/4 as indicated by the lights on the unit. Not happy 😈ORIGINAL REVIEW:The battery itself has worked ok so far (2 weeks and has recharged my iPhone 4 times on one full charge. BUT... it will only charge with the cord that was included to the computer, not a USB power adapted (wall plug)! It does charge with my aircard charger plugged into a wall outlet so I will live with it. AnnoyingUPDATE:Customer service was extremely helpful and they sent me a new charging cord which works great!

It works for charging just fine, but does not have a plug to charge from the house. Still need to figure out how to re-charge it, so we can use it again.
