The bottle's sprayer is not really practical for the gel-like density, so I poured the product into a clean peanut butter jar and applied by brush to my patio furniture covers to restore water resistance. It saved me a boatload of money over replacing all the covers. I thoroughly cleaned the covers before painting on the product, twice, and am very pleased with the outcome.

I give it 4 stars instead of 5 cause it could work a little better ... it works but it isn't perfect... I think I will need to spay the object at least 3 times... I have only done 2 times so far... but I do like it and would buy again!

Rustoleum Fabric water repellent works great and lasts for months in direct sunlight and regular rain. We used on large outdoor patio Umbrellas that were not manufactured to be waterproof. Rustoleum product made umbrella waterproof and the rain beads and runs off rapidly. It lasts for many hours of use weekly and we only reapply every couple years to keep repellent. It never stopped working. Make sure to wear breathing and eye protection as the product has very strong vapors, do not apply indoors or in windy conditions Highly Recommended

Have you had to test the product for water protection. When I looked to get more, I was told the product was discontinued due to lack of sales. One bottle sprayed a backpack and a half of a rain jacket. Not sure I would purchase again.

Great waterproofing for gear you can’t or don’t want to use Granger or other wash and proof methods.Restored shell finish to trench coats, Gerry Actete Ski jacket that would reproof with wash n proof. Based on other reviewer comment about darkening, very cool side effect making black materials even more black than you would think possible. Went a little crazy and wash n proofed every bit old and new gear after a soak through experience but had a new Red North-face that is like kevlar but more orange than red. Decided to try making darker with this and was not disappointed. Now it is like Ferrari Red!The smell while drying/curing will knock you out! I left it out in a windy night 40-50 weather. Still had a strong smell. Tried running through a few fabric refresher cabinet cycles, and after that was not quite enough, tossed in dryer (older whirlpool gas with plastic interior) and baked away the smell on low cycle for 15 minutes. The stink does eventually go if you are patient, but obviously I wanted to wear it next day without vomiting.

Why haven't I known about NeverWet before now? This is the most magical and fantastic item I think I have EVER bought.....that was not a joke in any way. I originally bought this for our back patio. To cover my furniture with it so I did not have to put away cushions every single night. It worked so well that I then used it on my Sun Shade above my porch. Again, the rain just feel right off and did not sage down my sun shade at all.Then I started to get creative......I have now been using this on my shoes and my children's shoes. I sprayed this all over my sons All Star Chuck Taylor WHITE shoes (white shoes + 3 1/2 year old BOY = BAD BAD IDEA). I am beyond amazed on how white his shoes are after a month of outside play in the sand box, after rain, went to the babysitters house, and just every day wear and tear. The shoes are still white.This stuff is amazing. If I had fabric seats in my car (I have leather) I would totally try this on them. Mater of fact I think I will use this on my carpet in my car (Note: I have not tried this yet and I would try maybe a small area in my trunk before spraying all over my car).
