Inconsistent reporting and no documentation
Pluses: the doorbell and inside chime work fine, the video quality is excellent, even at night, and recovering videos is easy. Minuses: it is extremely inconsistent on motion detection, and slow to react. At least nine out of ten videos uploaded to the cloud are eight seconds of nothing, because whatever triggered it is already gone. Occasionally you will see the mailman walking away, but if you wanted to catch someone stealing a package from your doorstep, fat chance. Finally, it comes with a tiny booklet of sketchy installation instructions, and that's it. There is NO MANUAL. No instructions or description are available, even from the manufacturer's Web site. I still have no idea what the "Cruise" button on the app means or does. No guidance on the app or the hardware. Still, I do think the hardware is okay, and could perhaps work better with better software and documentation.

Worst Amazon purchase I’ve made in 5 years.
This is one of the worst purchases I’ve made in five years on Amazon.First of all, and I mean this literally, this device will go off when the wind blows.That, in and of itself, doesn’t sound horrible, but when the alarm goes off to let you know something or someone is in the eye of the doorbell, it emits an incredibly loud and irritating DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG... for a total of 7 times. Even if you get to your phone before it stops, there is no way to stop the DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG.It’ll make you want to throw your phone and the doorbell off of a cliff.The other ridiculous thing is that the bell will not go off when someone is actually at the door. Today, I walked in the front door, took off my jacket, let the dogs out, and was getting something out of the fridge before the doorbell went off. It was at least three minutes later. What in the heck good is that if the person trying to break into your home has three minutes to leave before the camera even kicks on?I’m seriously stunned by how bad this device is. Unfortunately, it’s past the return time. We figured we weren’t using it correctly and gave it way too much time and too many chances during our return window.Stay away. This thing has a long way to go.

Does not connect to WiFi or phone
Bad product. I tried it on my iPhone and my sister tried her Galaxy S8. Neither of us could get this thing to work. No way to connect it to WiFi. The instructions are useless. Spent 2 hours trying to get it to work and nothing. No support since company is Chinese.Just get a Ring. Save yourself time and trouble. I only rated two stars because it’s a fairly decent-ish looking product. Not exactly a $2 knockoff, but it is generally crap regardless. Even the app reviews on the iOS App Store and Play Store for the app (UBell) are poor.

SENT IT BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND
Instructions are very limited and not very easy to understand. Setting up can be a little difficult. You may want to search Youtube for a instruction video. The video is not really that good. The app you download is not very good at all. It is not easy to use and there are no instructions on what each feature does. You cannot playback video very easy. There is no way to adjust the doorbell/motion alert volume on your phone or change the sound so it DING DONGS 3 times with every motion and it’s very annoying. I sent it back and do not recommend it at all. I use Wyze Cam security cameras and they are top notch so I will wait until they make one to buy again. They also are very inexpensive and customer orientated.

Don't put it in a sunny spot.
Overall for the price, I like alot of the features of this doorbell. I can can see and talk to anyone who might be at my door, the night vision is excellent and the chime inside is perfect.I did knock 2 stars off because this doorbell is very sensitive to sunlight. As soon as it's in the sun(around 9am), it pings my phone with "front door activity" every few minutes until it's in the shade again(about 2pm or so). That significantly reduces battery life and I'm never sure if there is activity or it's just the sun.I don't have a shady spot near my front door to put it either. Had I known this, I would have maybe tried a different brand.

waste of time
I ordered this and should have realized the five reviews at the time were obviously from supporters of the product and not TRUE reviews. Unfortunately, there are many of these pumped out on a new item. Anyway, it was complicated to set up, instructions were virtually useless (someone in china attempted to use English). Little booklet needed to have a magnifier glass to even read it, which didn't make any sense anyway. No support, of course, being it's from China and must be fairly new. But then it did not seem to work very well anyway, so to save time and money, i sent it back immediately, and was reimbursed promptly. Thank you Amazon, but i should have known better.

Motion Detection not good. Seems to be no support either.
Doorbell is OK if all you want to do is see a real time feed.Motion detection take a while to start recording. It starts to record after some one has walked up to the door, opened it and has gone in. I guess I could put up a sign that says stand here for 15 seconds:(Sometimes I can walk by door bell and it does not detect the motion.Also, there are a lot of parameters in the app that have no explanation of what to set them to.I looked on the web for official support site to ask questions and I cannot find one.Videos are a max of 8 seconds. I set it to 30 and 60 seconds and they still are only 8 seconds in length.I am returning this one:(

Do not recommend this product, it does not keep working.
This video doorbell is nothing less then a piece of crap. A big waste of money and time spent getting it to work. It worked well for a few months after I installed it, but started to notice the batteries would need recharging or replacing. Even bought two new batteries and a charger to have a second set of batteries ready when it went dead. I have written to the company to request a refund, but have not heard back from them of course. I would never recommend this again, which we did in the beginning.Thank you,Allen Sayler
