Very smooth and natural sound but limited overall volume.
This is not a cheap speaker anymore as it usually goes way above 100$ already, but if you can get it for 65$ like I found it on amazon, it is really decent with classleading sound in this class. But keep in mind that a JBL Flip 3 costs less and although it might be slightly bigger, it will offer you a more mature sound, much more loudness and you get better battery life as well not even mentioning the rugedness and water resistance. The Soen Transit XS is smaller of course and this is where it shines considering its size. I have tried many pocket-sized speakers and the Transit XS simply outperforms all of them in overall quality of sound. It has a very natural frequency response reaching 100Hz flat, other small speakers roll of way above 150Hz, some of them even above 200Hz which together with some treble boost results in some tinny and harsh sound. The Transit XS offers a pretty full-bodied sound which is surprising given the size. It doesn't boost any frequency in some unnatural way although many will definitely probably the typical fake "clarity" you usually get with many other boosted speakers. The Soen Transit XS seems to be tuned by real audio professionals unlike most of the other cheap Asia-stuff that simply sound atrocious, either overemphasizing some upper bass or some lower treble to make the speaker appear "mature" sounding.I really enjoy the natural sound of the Transit XS especially regarding its compact size, but as already mentioned you can get better performance for much less although it won't be as compact.Compared to the popular Mini Jambox I would give the Transit XS the edge as it simply sounds more full-bodied and not as veiled at the same time. But I prefer the smaller form factor of the Mini Jambox. Loudnesswise both are a bit limited, the Transit XS being even slightly softer. It does not distort at all except some slight farting coming out of the port at high levels, but you can notice some stronger dynamic compression during the last volume steps. Volume is in sync between speaker and iPhone btw, and I find the very first volume step to be a bit too loud.Fortunately it doesn't play any voice prompts, but there is a short confirmation tone when Bluetooth connection was successful, this may be a bit annoying although still much less intrusive than the loud welcome tones of the JBL Flip 3 for example. The somehow limited overall volume and the battery life which seemed a bit short during my testing so far are the only points of criticism from my side. Apart from that I would prefer a more rugged and rounded design, because although the Transit XS is indeed pocketable, the hard edges and corners simply make it less comfortable to carry around in a pocket than for example a FoxL.Soen has some great potential here and I hope they will continue with this for some upcoming speaker which hopefully may have higher loudness and a better rugged design for real portable use!

Small footprint with big sound
The sound is clear and full. Easily paired with any of our tablets (android and windows), our Moto G 2 phone and iPhone 4. This is one of the best travel units I have tested. Small footprint with big sound. I don't know what the full battery life is, as I only had it playing for 5 hours, in which it performed flawlessly. I cannot imagine a time when I would use it for longer than 5 hours, so I have no idea as to the actual battery life. The only caveat I would level against them - for the price it should have had a protective travelling case included.

Unbelievable for it's size, and design is spectacular
I was looking at two competing products, a Bose Mini and another (whose names escapes me) and happened to come across a reviewer who raved about the Soen Transit. So I took a look at this, and decided to take a chance with it. Let's face it, if you are looking at spending $200, that's where these higher quality PORTABLE devices are as far as price points go, so get over it. We have the hi def audio stuff in our homes and it is stuck where it is - I can't carry it around, I need good quality audio wherever I am, indoors, outdoors or away, and that's why I was searching for a better sound than what comes from my ipad mini.People complained about the lack of bass or the tin sound when the rocked it to the heights, but I'm not doing that. I'm living life, listening to music or audio books when I'm otherwise doing aspects of life that don't require high def bass etc. And this 'sacrifice' - with the Soen Transit - does not go unrewarded.I am only writing this because I am shocked at the sound quality, I wasn't expecting it to be as good based on the negative reviewers. Yes, the system is expensive, and it's small and limited in what it can truly do because of its size. But it is a fabulous portable bluetooth speaker - I can't cart around the high quality sound speakers in our family room, and I understand that at this stage, small units are not going to give you the same experience. I understand this and frankly am looking for something better, louder, clearer than comes from my ipad mini. And this is beautiful, and beautifully designed. Small. For me, perfect for what I require it to do. And with a speakerphone for the cell, even better, I don't think the Bose mini does this.

Great speaker!
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for xmas and we both love it. We've tried other speakers but the sound quality isn't nearly as good.We travel a lot and it is so small and easy to throw in my purse for use at friend's places and in hotel rooms while on the road. It is very quick and easy to pair with my phone and the sound is clear. Volume can go quite high without distortion. With a sleek design and cover that protects it when not in use I would highly recommend this speaker.

Second to none in design. Second to one in sound.
Absolutely beautiful in design. Feels perfectly solid and the matte surfaces whisper of sophistication. The solid metal kickstand is brilliant and directs sound perfectly up and into the room. I would love to have this sitting on my desk...if I was only playing acoustic and classical tracks. Compared to my Bose Soundlink Mini it can't reproduce bass and mids in the same manner. Also it has trouble at the upper end of it's volume range and won't fill up a room as well.If Soen could sandwich in some radiators, even at the expense of beefing up the size, they would have a Bose killer. As much as I love the design....these are speakers.Seriously consider if listening to classical mostly. It plays quite crisp and relatively warm.

Great value for money
Great value for money!TRANSIT by Soen - Portable Bluetooth Speaker are by far the best in the market at this price point. I have speakers of other high end brands but would rate these as the best. Excellent build quality and the sound is superb and clear and distinct. The volume could be a little louder. I record music and these serve as portable monitors also. The charge lasts long enough and the speakers are easily portable. Everyone in my circle with an ear for good sound say “these are excellent”.I purchased this product in Feb 2015, It is working as it did on the first day. Sound quality - excellent, product quality - excellent, battery life - excellent.

When a music system is recommended to you by a musician, you listen
When a music system is recommended to you by a musician, you listen.Lovely sound and it's wireless function makes it super convenient. Haven't used the bluetooth functionality yet but I'm sure it works perfectlyAlso it's super compact size and superlative boxing makes it the ideal travel companion. You can even slide ur ipod or whatever device into the TRANSIT's box.I take it on motorcycle trips where space and weight are critical issues. So enough said.Beautiful product. Just wish it had a little more grunt.

The soft spoken gentleman
Amazing little piece of speaker at 4999. Got a good deal from amazon and at that price this baby is awesome. Loses the volume fight to the soundlink and flip but holds its own on high quality sound. Its really pretty to look at, super portable, and very well designed. Added benefits is it charges with your micro USB charger and doubles as a speaker phone. All in all if you need a personal speaker, portable and great in sound then the Transit is a good buy and for 4999 definitely blindly!!!!

A great bluetooth speaker!
My search for a worthy bluetooth speaker led me to find the TRANSIT by Soen.I cannot rave enough about the product design, form factor, build quality and the sound output.Compared to other brands in the same category, one ends up paying a premium on the product offering but this surely is a bang for your buck once you experience the product.
