Didn't use as a hula hoop, made a bed canopy instead
This item is perfectly suited for making a canopy to hang above a bed. Simply choose your curtain (84 inch), sheer or opaque, and then slide curtains on hula hoop before it is fully assembled. Then, once it is fully assembled, hang using fishing line, attached to a hook in ceiling, or, as we did, several hooks securely taped to the ceiling using scotch mounting double sided.

snaps together, portable
It works great for dog training which I bought it for. It doesn't have those little weights inside so I don't know if you could use if for hula hooping. Maybe you could put marbles in it or something. But I am happy with it and it comes apart for storage.

All round good choice for anyone
This was a gift for a 3 year old....unbelieveable how fast she picked up the hoop and could continue for long amounts of time. Its healthy; inside or outside toy. ?This comes apart easy to pack for the beach or the park or Grandma's house. Since a gift; I did not inspect it or get a good physical overview of item.

Good idea bad material
Easy to build, fun to play, light to carry but very easy to break and bend. Kinds like to lean on them, step on them and after one week they get dents and bents that cannot be fixed easily, but they are very easy to assemble and disassemble so they work great for carrying around.

Learning to hoop.
Okay, I am an adult and heard that this was the best way to get in shape and the best way to lose weight! Well needless to say when I was a kid it was so easy to do, now still learning and spend more time picking it up off the floor. To bad we couldn't glue to the hips to shake it!

awsome for my heilocopter course
I gave it 5 stars bcause I knew it would be perfect for my heliocopter obstical course. As far as hula hoop it is not heavy enough I dont think

Not Great Quality
I like that this hula hoop comes apart; I thought it might be less likely to get run over or broken. Because the plastic is so cheap, it's not that easy to snap together, so I don't see we'll be taking it apart that often. My daughter is almost 4 and probably could use a smaller hoop to learn with, and the better quality ones are more weighted, making them easier to use. This is really, really light. Even adults who are good at hula hooping have trouble using this one. I try hard not to buy plastic toys, particularly cheap plastic ones, but I fear this one will be in the landfill sooner than later.
