Excellent for tight spaces, a pleasure to use, securely holds the bottle. But costly.
I needed to fit a water bottle into my MTBs -very- tight frame. A friend spoke highly of this FIDLOCK system so I decided to give it a try. PROS: 1) Installation is a no-brainer, basically like installing a regular bottle holder; 2) Placing and retrieving the bottle becomes intuitively fast and easy, a must while riding; 3) Takes up minimal space and it's light weight; 4) The bottle stays securely held in place without any rattles, 5) Well constructed and looks good, should last a long time. CONS: 1) It's not cheap; 2) You need to use a Fidlock- compatible bottle (or buy the optional Uni Connector braket to attach to you bottle). For me this system has worked great and I'd certainly recommend it.

Amazing bottle system
Very pleased with my fidlock bottle. It was easy to install and works wonders. Already taken a few bike rides with it and the bottle does hold firmly in place. The magnetic twist-on system is a clean and aesthetic solution compared to having a conventional bottle cage that would result scratches the surface of a bottle over time. Definitely pleased with mine. One happy customer here.

Great water bottle
I like the fact that this water bottle stays on even down some of the gnarlist trails. Easy to take on and off. Little pricy but it's worth it to not lose a water bottle.

Handles Park City Downhills with no issues
The Fidlock water bottle is, without a doubt, the ultimate companion for biking enthusiasts, and its magnetic mounting system is nothing short of incredible. I've put this bottle to the test during some seriously aggressive downhill rides and jumps in locations like Utah's Park City and Deer Valley, and I can confidently say that it has never failed me. The bottle securely stays in place unless I intentionally want to remove it, and the convenience it offers while riding is unparalleled. Its ability to handle the intense jolts and terrain variations of such demanding trails without any issues is a testament to its durability and design. The Fidlock water bottle has become an essential part of my biking gear, ensuring I stay hydrated on every adventure without the worry of losing my bottle along the way. It's a game-changer for bikers, and I can't recommend it enough.

Expensive but is a cool feature
It’s not for everyone but it’s really easy to take the bottle off the while riding. Also, it looks cleaner when the bottle is off the bike.

Works great for trail ride, on the fly hydration.
With what seems like a million different MTB rear suspension shock configurations, it sometimes makes it difficult if not impossible to use frame mounted water bottles. I don't care for backpack hydration systems so I've realized after decades of trail riding, bottles are it for me. That being said, having to stop a ride to wrestle a bottle past a shock or a tool pack, or both, just to grab a drink is damn annoying. The magnetic twist function on this system eliminates that and allows for drink on the fly with ease. Within one ride, you'll master the magnetic snap in, no problem. The bottle is a standard size, easy to squeeze and the nozzle works fine. The bracket has about 3/8" slide adjustment at the frame. And, in spite of some brutal trail / downhill rides, it has never popped out of the magnetic setting. Great solution if you prefer bottle hydration!

Haven't had it fall off yet
I've been using this bottle for three weeks and so far it's great. During the summer I ride with a 2.5 liter Osprey hydration pack as this would not be adequate for me when it's hot as I generally ride for between 2 to 2.5 hours. During the cooler months (spring / fall) I wanted to ditch the hydration pack and ride lighter as I don't drink nearly as much. This bottle really fills that need. I've ridden over many rock and root gardens and hit some small jumps (all I have on my trail) and the bottle has not fallen off or come loose. It's pretty easy to access while riding and the magnets in the mechanism pull it into place when you're ready to put it back. I generally stop real quick when I need a drink as trying to drink out of this on a mountain bike trail might be a small challenge. The bottle is pretty thick so you have to squeeze it pretty hard to get the liquid out. Washing it is mildly annoying (even with a bottle brush) as the locking mechanism mostly sits inside the bottle and makes getting the bottle brush in there a little tight. That's nothing I would deduct stars for though. When I first received the bottle it was smaller than I imagined it would be, but after putting it on the bike I think if they had made it too much bigger it would probably make it a little harder to use, but if I could make one adjustment to it I would have liked it to be just a little bit fatter.

Expensive, but slick design
I finally got sick of the no-doubt unhealthy plastic taste, and messy aluminum oxide (from the cage) all over the outside of my standard water bottles. In fact, I really hesitated to even use these old bottles, just carrying one as drinking bladder back-up for unexpected visits to Desperation Straights on desert rides.Fidlocks are expensive, but made with BPA-free, tasteless plastic. The bottle also stays put remarkably well, even on rough terrain with my MTB. I was expecting it to rattle off and hit the ground at least once, but it hasn't yet. It's no more fiddly to replace the bottle than it is to cram one into a cage. And it's really nice to have the low profile bracket instead of a bulky cage when I'm not carrying a bottle.Being able to carry a bottle I actually want to drink from means I can leave the Camelbak home for shorter rides, which is more comfortable and freeing.

Holds the bottle really well
I thought that the bottle would come of my bike after a couple hits and bumps but after several months of riding hard and testing the bottle hasn’t come off very solid and easy to install

Terrible. Don’t buy. Bottle falls out of cage when empty. Waste of money!
I brought this after reading reviews and comments saying it is capable of downhill mountain bike use. I highly doubt that as once I installed on my bike, when empty with any weight of water inside, the bottle falls off my bike with less than one finger of pressure. If I had water in the bottle it would be even worse. I contacted fidlock support and they asked for photos of it installed, which I sent. Then no reply from them. No suggest or ideas on making it better. I read that this product can be turned to release left or right side. But this is not true. It only releases to the right. I a, left handed. Again more false marketing from this seller. Very disappointing.

Good, but a bit pricey
On my electric bike there really isn't a practical space for a bottle holder. The Fidlock allows me to install a flat magnetic mount that is not in the way when I'm not using a bottle. Once the bottle is in place, it really snaps in there nicely - strong hold, but still easy to get out by hand with a twist. An excellent solution. I ended up buying 3 mounts and 2 bottles for 3 family bikes. My only complaint is that there is nothing else like it and the price seems high for what it is.
