Oh my gosh it's amazing
I am shocked by how much I like this pen. This is the first glass pen I've ever tried and it writes like a dream. It comes with a very tight rubber piece covering the tip. I cut mine off very carefully because I could see it cracking the tip if I just pulled it off. The pain itself I found only right that an angle. It does tend to dry out on one side so I try to rotate it when writing. I like how thin this one is as opposed to having the bulge near the tip. It's more like pencil width or a little wider. Overall I love it and will be using this a lot. Testing inks is going to get a lot easier I was hesitant to get this because of the low price and I heard sometimes they are scratchy. I have not experienced that with this pen except when I try to write directly vertically. So I just write at an angle which I'm pretty sure it was meant to do anyway. If you are not sure if a glass pen is for you this is a great one to try out

Well balanced and carefully packaged.
This is the first glass pen I have ever purchased, although I've seen them for sale in many places for a number of years now. I have some experience using dip pens and ink for pen-and-ink artwork and calligraphy, and I have wanted to try one of these for a long time. I selected this one because I liked the slim profile of the barrel, as opposed to the often bulbous handles seen on many glass dip pens.It is a bit "scratchier" than I expected. While I considered polishing the tip myself, I have elected instead to allow it to become polished through use over a period of time. I would definitely recommend this glass pen to others looking to purchase one.

Messy, But Fun And Beautiful!
The media could not be loaded. This is a very nice and giftable pen for anyone who likes to write, journal, or draw with traditional ink. The kit comes with everything you need to write the old-fashioned way. Please be aware that the way the bottle of ink is designed, you have to use a thumbnail to pry a small rubber-like cap off the bottle and therefore it's very messy. I got ink all over my fingers, and under one finger nail. That's the only way to pry it, because it sits flush with the top. But once that plug is off, you can use the ink.I was surprised by just how long I was able to write without needing to refill the tip of the pen by dipping it into the well. The line made by the pen is fine, and I didn't have any problems with large ink blots.Clean up of the pen was easy: I just ran it under the faucet.Overall, this is a very cool kit and I'd highly recommend it for nostalgia and to remember the power of the pen!

Comes with a large bottle of ink!
This is such a lovely and elegant glass pen, it way exceeded my expectations. This was my first time buying one, so I did not really know what to expect, but it was a great price, beautiful and easy to use. The design is even more gorgeous in person. It has an easy to hold grip, not slippery at all. I was worried about that with it being glass, but it has a studded type pattern where to hold, that is comfortable and easy to write with. It is also sturdy, I have accidentally dropped it a few times and not even a scratch! You also get a very large bottle of ink. You only need a little, a little bit goes a long way, so I won’t need to by more anytime soon. As far as being a first time writing with glass ink dip, it writes very smoothly, once you get the hang of it. It leaves nice clear and bold writing, without running. This would make a nice gift.

Gorgeous pen!
The pen is a lovely purple glass with a spiral point. It's a lovely way to write thank-you or birthday cards; it feels so fancy. I need to improve my calligraphy again to be worthy of it.The pen comes with a bottle of red ink, which is fine. It's not my favorite ink but it works and is a good starting point. I like that the ink top has a hold for inserting the pen, and you can then dump it upside down to 'fill' the pen point. Meaning, the ink is unlikely to spill out otherwise, which is useful. It also comes with the cutest little whale pen holder, so you can set your pen down and have it NOT roll away from you. It's a very cute gift set. The box is a boring but serviceable black, so you can tie a ribbon around it and gift it.

Not the same size pen.
Pretty disappointing.... This is a pink replacement pen and it is much smaller then the black pen I bought. It wasn't packaged as safely as the black one either. The first pink pen I received came chipped and scratched so it was returned. Thinking of returning this pink one as well, it's too small to work with.

Wonderful dip pen!
This is a lovely ink dip pen! The channels in the glass tip hold quite a lot of ink, much more than a metal nib. The pen glides across the paper in a lovely way. There is no “scratchy” feeling on the paper. This pen produces a mono line, but I find it quite easy to make lines thicker by moving the pen more slowly when needed. Terrific value. Arrived in a storage box lined with dense foam.

Great to write with! Wide smooth nib!
This was the first glass pen that was more of a cylinder vs with all of the bulges and such you see in a lot of dip pens. It feels comfortable in the hand and seems more versatile than some pens with big knobs. The tip writes really wide- like a medium+2. That’s great for the deckled edge super rough paper I tend to write on. With smoother paper you have to be more careful with the ink and such.Very nice to write with over all! And very cost effective!
