KING THOR

To you I say, Gorr was Wrong (Review #379)
Jason Aaron's time on Thor had incredible high points but also lows. To say it was anything but incredible though is a disservice to the talent of the writer. That said, this final miniseries rests somewhere in the middle. It's not quite as epic as it should be but it is nonetheless satisfying as an ending. Some reviewers have described this book as simply a retread of Aaron's God Butcher/Godbomb story arcs in Thor: God of Thunder (2012), the stories which started it all. I find that disingenuous. Similar themes are explored but in all it serves more as a continuation. The stakes have been so high for so long that following up on them perfectly was always going to be impossible. If you look past that though there is a beautiful finality to this story. Aaron openly admits in his emotional farewell letter that his experience writing the character was very spiritual for him. It's something you can feel when reading it. Having Esad Ribic rejoin Aaron to finish the story they started is simply perfect. His grand and imaginative art style fit the characters and their world completely to the last. Other series artists from the run make a guest spot as well, most notably Russel Dauterman and Mike Del Mundo. The end result of this series is far from perfect, but to dismiss it entirely is a shame. The instant I finished reading I knew this was what I wanted to say. So let us together say goodbye to a truly worthy run of titles.4/5

Ends with a Thud
The art is great, but the story is just a rehash of the villain Gorr, and other already used plots from the last six years of this author run. Loki still tells stories, Thor still whines and mopes about like a millennial even when he is a very old...Thors grand daughters make a final showing too. A boring slow read. Aaron clearly peaked with his Janethor run and his last two years on the real Thor book has just been passing time. Can't until the next author hopefully makes Thor a fun and exciting read again.

A Truly Fitting End To An Epic Run By The Writer And Artistic Collaborators
This is a great book and a fitting end (for now?) to writer Jason Aaron's epic 7 year Thor run especially amidst Marvels annual / semi-annual creative shake ups.An epic tale of the of the finale clashes between King Thor, Loki, Gorr , and the All Black Necro Sword. A tale battle, of truths, of lies, of the cosmic struggle to stop entropy, both personal and universal. A clash of wills, of fates of faith and of beliefs.A rollicking adventure that is and always was an a great (and fun) allegory on the power and joys of storytelling

Absolutely perfect
Amazing, gonna miss the Jason Aaron run. I actually didn't get into it until 2016, and I'm glad I did. Before Jason Aaron, I wasn't really a fan of the character, and this is the best ending of a run I've ever read

Simply the best Swan Song on the best comics run I've seen in my lifetime.
I have no words, honestly, to describe how good this final story was. I thought that the end of Jane Foster Thor was epic. But this topped it by a country mile. Only one complaint: I still don't know how Thor's granddaughters show up. We get a slight hint, but that's all...

Great comic, poor condition
The comic is great, the condition of the actual book is not so great. Tears on the front cover and the back cover. Bent at the top right hand corner too. Disappointing.

Thor-re?
