It's very small when the cap is on but when open and put on the end it's normal sized. It feels great and is easy to use. Since the cap covers the tip of the pen, it doesn't need to retract. There are several colors to choose from and it is fairly good value for the price. I really like the way space pens write so quickly and easily.

A great small everyday carry pen that fits comfortably in your pocket. Then when you want to use it, the cap fits over the back becoming a full size pen. Timeless classic elegant design. Simply perfect!

I think this is an exceptional pen, the reason I chose this is because it is very ingenious, when closed it's about half the length of a standard pen or about the size of a bullet (this is where it gets it's name from). As well as being tiny, the pen is sleek and elegant, and when open it transforms into a standard sized writing instrument. All of these features add up to a pen which disappears in your pocket and gets compliments when being used. Because of the pressurized cartridges the fisher space pen writes at any angle, in the rain, and in space. For $17 a fraction of the cost of a Mont Blanc, you can't beat the beauty, reliability, and ease of carry from this Fisher. My model is the blue one, I'm writing this on the chrome listing to show others that there is different colors available. My only complaint is that the clip tends to pop off, I super glue them in place.

I knew exactly what I was buying in this purchase: a pen that is practically indestructible, that will write under almost any conditions, and that may be tucked or clipped away in a small space. Great for anyone on-the-go or just needing a durable, attractive writing implement.How did I know what I was buying? This is my third Fisher Space Pen (or so). All the previous ones were either lost (lent and never returned) or stolen.I bought this item (as, I am sure, many others do) because my previous Fisher pen "grew legs." Another one bites the dust!I got exactly what I wanted -- quickly and at a reasonable price.Good item, good seller, happy customer.PS: DO NOT BUY the newer Space Pen with a blunted cap (one end flattened). It does not "hang together" when you turn the writing end backwards and insert it into the cap for storage.

the presentation of this pen alone makes it an amazing gift!! i got one for myself as i have never had a nice pen and never understood people who spend 30+ on a pen, until i got one of these and now i understand. just so classy yet tough as an ox! there really is no better and for those who have an EDC kit, this is the PERFECT addition to that kit

This is the second bullet space pen I have purchased, but I bought it because I liked the first one so much! The first one is the same chrome unit, but it has no clip and came in a blister pack. This pen has the clip - which I wanted for this one - and comes in a nice case which I will try to keep the pen in while in my briefcase, but is probably not practical to do so. I purchased the first pen to keep in my car because it has the low and high temperature capabilities that make sense for the car. I have constantly looked to write something down while in the car - such as filling out a deposit slip - but there was always a problem in freezing temperatures that kept the pen from writing. So, after reading about the bullet space pen, I bought it and now have no issue with temperatures and freezing. I enjoy it so much that I decided to get a second one, with a clip, to use for work. I really like it. My one, minor issue, is that the pen is small, so it is easy to lose, but it does get normal sized when you pull off the cap and place it on the end of the pen. The minor issue with that is that the cap does not snap solidly on the end of the pen, although it doesn't readily fall off. The pen feels real well made and is comfortable to hold. It also writes beautifully. They say it can write under water, so as soon as I find a paper that is waterproof (do they have such a thing?), I will try that feature!

I bought this to put in my Covey planner. Wanted something small and reliable that wouldn't get in the way when attached to the planner. Small and reliable is exactly wht this pen is. It is smaller than I thought it would be but it does expand into a full size pen when the cap is on. Right out of the gate I ordered the fine point refill. I don't like the wide lines the medium point makes. If you plan on putting this in the shirt pocket of a dress shirt you might want to go with something bigger as this will attach nicely but doesn't have enough weight to not fall forward in the pocket, again, it's pretty small. But for what I wanted it for, it's perfect! Great for throwing in a travel bag or purse and the quality is top notch. This would make a great gift as it has a cool story behind it. I believe it is worth the money and I look forward to it outliving all of my other pens. Unless it 'walks' off as others have testified to.

A nice small pen for my EDC. It writes very well, is easy in your hand, and looks slick
