These are the most comfortable and versatile heeled, open-toed, slide-on mules ever. I wear them with anything and everything - flares and a blazer, skinny jeans and a flannel, literally they meld well with so many different wardrobe types. The papaya color is a reddish-orangish, tan color. I wish they had them in more than two colors, for the price (19.00 when I purchased mine) I would probably take one of each color available. Regarding the comfort of them, the heel is in perfect proportion on the mule itself, aesthetically and comfortability wise. My spine is as crooked as a question mark, so personally, heeled shoes help me counter lean towards a better posture. I have a household total of 8 people and I go non-stop in these mamma-jammas cleaning, keeping up with light yard work, the Jones', the kids, the pets, you know.....living the dream, life. You know what they say about opinions....and everyone has one, but for 19.00, I feel I "robbed" 'em on these! Shhh, I may blow it. P.S. - My 14 year old is into the 70's kind of clothing style, she actually stole these to wear with bell bottoms and amazing they looked adorable and appropriate, until I saw her attempt to look like she wasn't learning how to walk for the first time wearing Bozo the Clown shoes on an invisible doll stand. (Yes! She still needs Mom!) Point being a very let's say picky choosy teenager momentarily stole these from me so they must be decent looking, right?

I saw red Mule pumps and I received burnt orange Mule pumps. not the color I was expecting or wanted. but it's too much hassle to return them so I kept them.
