Very Creative and Excellent Story Line
This is perhaps my most favorite book in the series so far. The author is very creative and the story line takes some surprising twists in several places. The author leaves you hanging in the middle for a while as you wonder what's going to happen to his new beautiful elf through several chapters. A fourth girl is added to the hero's harem in this book and it is done well and gradual, although you feel it coming. The intimate scenes are done well, although it's still R rated.I have two cons. First, the author spends a LOT of pages discussing the hero's build of a new Earth based device in painstaking detail. The detail is well researched if you're interested in the details, but it detracted from the story for me. However, you're able to speed through it if you wish. Second, the story line editing could be improved in a number of places where the author skips over a detail here of there. You're able to figure it out though. I would rate this book 4 1/2 stars if I could, but again, best book in the series.

A Good Read
Okay. Everyone talks about the car. I dream about building cars, so almost every detail made sense to me, and it was too much for me! This from some one who was mentally disagreeing with some of his suspension choices . . Really, the problem is comparison. Just say something like "instead of a simple coil over suspension (a spring over a shock absorber/damper) and a shock absorber with an oil reservoir, I put springs inside the shock absorber instead of oil". Too many words for certain things! I liked the fact that Deya made him wait, and that she not the violent type. To me it makes no sense to have an aggressive and violent healer. The best part of this book is that it's obviously going somewhere interesting. I'm hoping we get to 100 reviews soon, so that the author will start on book 7 . .

Good Installment in a good series, author continues to improve and narrator is solid
I love the series and the narrator, that being said, I am hot a huge fan of the endings. I know the necessity for indie authors to churn out as much quality material as quickly as possible, It is almost literally the only way to make a living in modern publishing. I am also dedicated to audiobooks and the delay between the release is frustrating, again I know the reason and impressed that the end product has not suffered, the indie narrators have been a pleasant surprise with every performance they grow and improve.Know for the novel. I was drawn to it by the magic system and the way it was used, the original storyline was solid and the world, while not unique, was built with growth in mind and has become a bigger part of the overall storyline. The only thing I find irritating is the amount of focus and time spent on the harem aspect and sex scenes, granted this author has made that aspect a realistic part of the story, but sometimes less is better. Again I know why it is necessary, especially at the beginning of a series or career, sex sells and always will, but this is not the medium of choice, at least not for me. Over the course of this series and others I have been following, it has become less of a focus and less graphic, which allows a bit more of the humor and magic that drew me to the series in the 1st place. Since this is a late review, I will say that I have continued the series and two others by this author and 1 is the 1st scifi novel I have listened to in a few years and believe it to be his best series starter and overall some of his best work. The only reason I mention this at all, is my belief that the author has become more confident with his craft and I believe he will continue to grow as an author.Starting off with harem books with overdone unrealistic graphic sex scenes has become a genre of it's own, that both male and female authors use as a draw, since the target audience is huge, but knowing when to branch out is a rough choice and a great risk, so when I see it done well, it is usually going to be a fun ride. This review is simply imho and yes I know it is far to long to be off real use on this site, but when asked for my honest opinion I do my best to take it seriously. So I will try to some it up in the 1 line title, which will be contradictory to the review itself...

Next level great read. Can't wait for the next.
This is the best Metal Mage book yet. I loved the story, the action, the emotion. There was nothing in this book that I disliked, except for the culture of the elves. I mean, the actions some of the elves took just made me furious. However, if an author can make me feel such strong emotions about what's going on in a book, I can only say that they are excellent at what they do. Bravo, Eric Vall. You are a true master of your craft. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Very good
I’m really enjoying this series. The storyline is excellent and the characters are easy to like and hate. Book 6 was really good but I think too much time was given to the intricacies of Bobby 3.0s inner workings. I ended up skimming over quite a few pages as I lost interest. Picks up well once they leave the City though. Definitely continuing the series

A fun read. Finally getting to rune magic and adding a 4th companion.
Fun new spin on magic in your world. Character development is going well but please be cautious your main characters don't become too alike between your books. Starting to see more and more of the same lines and attitudes used between stories. They are supposed to be separate worlds. In particular between succubus lord and metal mage, although summoner is getting close too. I've read them all so far, but will probably stop if they keep converging to one character with multiple stories.

Sadly the lowest point of the series for me.
Too much jerkass elves, impotent rage and angsting over getting into the pants of the pink haired elf to make this one enjoyable to read. Getting drunk and moping about not getting pink hair booty instead of planning on how to deal with his setbacks on world saving also made me lose a lot of respect for the hero. Oh and what is with the long and painfully detailed description of him building a new vehicle? I had to skip pages and pages of laborious and dull content before actually getting back to the story. Honestly felt like you were trying to pad out your pagr count Mr Vall. Note that this is coming from a reader that has bought every single book of this series and enjoyed all the previous novels so before the hardcore fanboys go all white knight for the author he does need some critical reviews as long as they are honest.
