This Directional Antenna Picks up 4G LTE Internet Very Well
Our household has been cord cutters for five years or so. When we lived in a town with cable service, internet was not a problem. We recently bought a new construction house on a couple of acres in rural southern Indiana. The nearest cell tower is around 6 miles away. There are very few options for internet service as no cable or telcon in the area. I became reluctantly resigned to pay for satellite internet and satellite TV services which would have cost well over $250 a month. The satellite internet is slow and spotty at best. After doing some investigating I discovered 4G LTE internet which provides internet service from cell towers. This is an emerging technology that is fraught with pitfalls such as opportunistic rip offs. Some of the wireless companies are getting into the space but not enough to provide relief for must rural customers where it is most needed. Also, some of the performance from the wireless companies has been disappointing. After joining a Facebook group for 4G LTE Internet I learned how to avoid the rip offs and discovered some reliable providers. In our rural situation, miles from the nearest towers it became clear that we needed external antennas on a mast. This Yagi "directional" antenna is well suited to rural areas as you aim it to the nearest tower with a strong signal. After hooking it up to our router repeaters, we can provide Wi-Fi throughout our property and our Roku works extremely well. If you are similarly situated, I recommend giving this antenna a try.
