Misleading and just plain WRONG and INACCURATE information provided in this book.
Do your own research before using any recipe that calls for an Essential Oil in this book unless you want swollen or sunburned lips.If I could give a negative star I would! The author is Unprofessional due to her Misleading and just plain WRONG and INACCURATE information provided in this book. You can clearly tell that the author did not do any real research. The author contradicts herself and to me this is completely unprofessional, and leads the reader to think the author does not know what she believes herself or what she even knows. Is she just reading various books and then cramming them into a book of her own with no real research, knowledge or conviction of her own?She makes comments about how bad the essential oils are that make you feel a quick tingle and how they ruin your lips and calls them out by name in the first part of the book, then a few pages later she has recipes that include the same oils as well as other “Hot” Essential oils. The one that could cause problems for some people is the recipe that calls for Cinnamon… Cinnamon has the effect of irritating or inflaming the uppermost layer of the lips due to which the blood flow in this area increases. Let’s make our lips swell up like the Incredible Mr. Limpet shall we?Recommending Phototoxic Essential oils to your lips without any education or disclaimer!!!WOW! I don’t know about you, but I do not want my lips getting sunburnt. Most Citrus oils cause Photosensitivity, unless you do your research you end up with sunburned lips. Why do you need to research? Because cold pressed Lime and Lemon oil can cause photosensitivity but Steam Distilled will not…. To most Lemon Essential oil is the same regardless of the process it was made.Recommending TOXIC Essential oils to your lips without any education or disclaimer!!!Adding Tea Tree Oil to your lip balm…. Tea tree oil is toxic when taken by mouth. Yes, this may contain a small amount but do you know if you will react to it if you lick your lips? There should be a disclaimer or something… So that you know it is your lip balm that is making your stomach upset, making you sleepy, diarrhea or confusion every time you lick your lips.I do not claim to be an “Oil” expert therefore when someone writes a book and provides incorrect / misleading information it is quite frustrating to me.There is no such thing as Apple ESSENTIAL OIL or Strawberry ESSENTIAL OIL….There is Fruit Extracts, Fruit infused Oils and Fragrance oils but these are NOT essential oils.Don’t get me wrong on the “Butter Cream” Essential oi!Just searching for what is an essential oil and Wikipedia or reading books on essential oils the author could have found all this information out.I will not go into the "ORGANIC" claims. Since the things she is claiming to be essential oils are not.. That means they are fragrance oils. Most fragrance oils are created with chemicals so how can they be Organic?Don’t get me wrong, I add hot oils and citrus to my lip products. But I do tell people I give or sell to what is in them and provide them with a disclaimer. The same with tea tree oil in my face wash products. Granted tea tree taste nasty, so I would never consider putting in a lip product. Some of the basic simple recipes are fine… But anyone who makes products and who would like to have the same results each time they make the same recipe knows not to use measuring spoons or measuring cups. You should measure by weight not volume. You measure a tsp of beeswax grated up vs pellets and you have way too much bees wax with the grated wax.For the person who does not care about consistency in what they make then this will not matter, but again… The author should have noted this for people. It seems the author is more concerned with sales then what the customer results will be.

No such thing as Strawberry Essential Oil!
You cannot call something organic without knowledge of what organic truly is..Pigments are not organic just because they come from the earth. You cannot use a purple pigment to color a product and call it organic,it is not..Strawberry is not an essential oil..If you are writing a book about organic, Please research your info.. Don't dead on your own simple because there are those who will look to you as the expert and follow your instructions to the letter..The list of essential oils goes on and on:StrawberryCranberryBlueberryRaspberryPineappleCoconutCucumberPomegranateWatermelonCantaloupeHoneydew (and any other type of melon)FigLychee(some florals also fit into this category such as Lily of the Valley and Lilac).More than once I have been asked about the above listed essential oils and where to buy them, if I can get them in, if they exist, etc. So I am answering this for everyone, as I believe it needs to be said. There is no such thing as the above essential oils.

Great recipes!
Loved the book. It was a easy quick read which is as it should be. No one wants to spend two weeks reading about every lip or balm detail. We want to get to the point! The how to! I would have given it 5 stars if there had been picture. I know, I know, pictures are expensive but you miss them especially in ebooks.

It's good. May need a little more info added for recipe mishaps that are common. Direction on what to do if it doesn't come out right. Also, how to add more moisture to it. Over all. It is a easy read and I like this author.
