Finding the rules is almost impossible. Author tries to help but fails. The profession makes Congress look like angels.
If you have a complaint against a lawyer (and who doesn't ) you will find that the law governing lawyers is generally hidden from the public. Pieces here and there. No practice guides and the more corrupt states hide it the best. This book tries to give you some hints, but it is not the answer. It's more like a treasure map without the X. I applaud the author for trying. Many of the "rules" are copyrighted so you can't just republish them, which should be illegal but remember the same people who are the target of the rules are the ones writing them and hiding them. It's worthwhile to read, but it's also a sad commentary on our judicial system as it has evolved because of lawyers. The commentary is complete when you use the rules to file a complaint. You will feel better but don't expect any satisfaction unless the lawyer does something that is politically incorrect. The bottom line is that the rules are completely useless - which is why more lawyers are being murdered and the profession has such a bad reputation for integrity. The entire system is built on conflict and adversity (fighting) limited by the "rules". Guess what happens without any rule enforcement? That's the USA at the moment. There is one solution, get rid of the bar associations and federally license anyone to practice law on an exam. The other, used in South American revolutions, isn't here yet but could be in a few years. Every lawyer is an officer of the court - part of the government. Think about that. Their bar number signifies they act with integrity, but for most of them, it's a complete joke, and you get the bill.Serious texts do exist, but you will pay hundreds of dollars for a copy. Start with the law library. It's your only chance to get the information you will really need.
