If you roll in BJJ, you will get a finger injury, and you will need one of these.
I strained and partially broke my Pip or some such joint during training in BJJ. I didn’t want to look like all the old BJJ dudes with mangled fingers, so I went to an orthopedist and also started occupational therapy as soon as the ortho cleared me to start recovery. I would have hurt myself more if I had tried to take care of this myself. My occupational therapist recommended I buy this spring on the first day. When it arrived, he bent the end that goes over the front of the finger so that it goes under the finger instead. We tossed the extra Velcro strip, and he added a sticky pad to the front to make my finger more comfortable. After the modifications, I wore it quite a bit more often than he advised. As my finger improved, I flattened out the front piece so more pressure was applied to straighten the finger. After removing it, you must flex your finger the other way, so I would roll up into as close to a fist as I could and do knuckle pushups to ford the finger to bend.Between twice a week therapy, this spring, and doing the painful little extra stretches that my therapist recommended, and I now have a nearly straight finger!!!I would still be wearing this spring to try to continue the process, if some little rug rats had not lost it, bless they tiny curious little brains. “Where is my little finger spring? It was right here?” “I don’t know <disarming cute giant winky eyes>” I’m able to approximate the active resistance it provided, but no where near the consistent hour or two on constant pressure. Some day, I will find it again in a toy box or in a furnace vent...I credit this device for at least 50% of my recovery. If you roll in BJJ, you will get a finger injury, and you will need one of these.

The cost was very reasonable
This was purchased for someone and I never received a clear indication of whether it was helpful.

Nice splint. Arrived quickly and in good condition.
Very nice splint for my patient. Fit well although had to do some adjusting and padding at distal strap.
