PenofinProtech Wood Cleanr Gl

This is a great product and I have used it on new, extremely old and pre stained in different colors. I like all penofin products. It is gentle on the fiber of your wood. If you use the cleaner be sure to use the brightener to get a beautiful finished look even on old old wood. I was shocked when I saw the difference. If you use the stain do not put it on to thick or it will be gummy, used per instructions it is gorgeous and protects your wood like no other product.

We had never heard of Penofin, until we moved into our house and discovered the previous homeowner had left us several gallons of stain for the exotic wood deck. Penofin is not cheap, but it’s highly durable and this wood cleaner helps with the cleaning and durability. This product is easy to mix and spray on with a pump sprayer. You have to agitate the deck after spraying it on. It’s not hard work, but it’s time consuming. You definitely want to do this 48 hours before staining to make sure the deck dries out before applying the stain.

I put an oil based stain on our deck and for whatever reason it didn't all soak in. It left a sticky mess. This product removed most of it. Took two applications, and in spite of the warning not to, I pressure washed the deck after the 2nd application. Cleaned most if it off, so I could get some sealer on before the rains sets in.

It might be a very good product but I purchased this to remove tree sap from my cedar deck and it wasn't able to remove it. I have tried pretty much everything and pine tree sap is seemingly impossible to remove without totally stripping off the stain finish.

Great stuff. Not too aggressive. I use it every year to clean teak furniture. I strongly recommend this product as a cleaner.
