So far so good. After I received these, I noticed some scraped spots revealing raw metal. I bought food-grade FLAX SEED OIL, as I had read on line to use, and followed the directions for seasoning with 6 thin layers. My somewhat slow instruction video is on Youtube: "2016 03 24 Seasoning a cast iron grate for Weber Genesis gas grill"It has resulted in a black, hard as nails seasoning that so far has stood up to several grills on my Weber Genesis gas grill. I'm more than satisfied! Finally! I use the flat side UP as has been suggested, and I use the Woody natural BBQ grill scraper on it. El perfecto. However, I will be bringing the grates into the breezeway in the winter to protect against rust from condensation, from previous experience with porcelain coated cast iron grates.

I received these cast-iron grates before the due date! They are heavy duty and are a great replacement for the thin, steel ones that came with the Weber Spirit 200 grill. These should last a good long time. I just wish they made them for the 36" Weber Ranch Kettle charcoal grill!

Original grate doesn't come close to this one. Heavy, strong and well built. So much better than the original.
