Not flattering to my body type but cute suit, too ran a little small

This bathing suit is so cute and it’s very flattering. I feel comfortable in it and I don’t feel like I’m too exposed in the top being large chested.

It was ok. Didn't fit my body type.

One of my kids loves American flags. She is crazy about them. When she saw this bathing suit, she almost fell over the chair shouting, "GET THAT!" LEt's see how it measured up.WHAT IS THIS SUIT LIKE?This suit is very thin fabric. No two ways about it. The front of the bottoms is double lined but both layers are very thin. The back layer is not lined at all and the cut allows the rear end to hang out if you pull them up to the high waist level they are shown to be cut for. The top has quite thick foam cups in it which covers the chest nicely. The lower band of the top, however, is thin fabric and bunches.WHAT SIZE IS OUR DAUGHTER?Our daughter wears a 10-12 misses size depending on the clothing. This is an XL which is only slightly too big on the top. It is pretty close to fitting well. Usually an XL is like 16-18 but this is not going to fit that size very well.HOW DOES THIS FIT?The fit is not great. The top is nice but is a bit large. We plan to take that in a bit once we remake the bottom band to have more than one layer of white swim suit fabric. in it. The bottoms are way above the waist, but the rear hanging out is not a look that our daughter is going for, so we plan to take apart the bottoms, add another layer in the back of lining, and then remake trimming the crotch seam by an inch or so to lower the back legs. We also plan to make the elastic smaller to make a fuller back and fit more like a brief.IS IT WORTH IT WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO ALTER THIS SUIT?No, honestly, this suit is chintzy in how it is made. The back is see through if it is wet and it has almost no body to it. The legs in back are not flattering even for those more desirable figures. The tot is really cut, but the lower band is so thin that it sags when wet. If you are not able to sew or change this, I would not recommend it as it is unless showing your rear and having see-through suits is what you like, then it might be perfect for you.THE BOTTOM LINEIf we could not alter this, we would probably give it two stars. Because we love the way it looks and the style is nice and adaptable to some easy changes, the color and pattern is just what our daughter wants. It is worth it for us to get some white swimsuit fabric and alter this. If you can't you might not like it.MY RATINGTHREE STARS. I am only giving it three because we are able to alter it. If we could not, it would not get that many.

This American Flag High Waisted Swimsuit from Bloom Muse is a cute design but it's cheaply made and the butt area is see-thru when wet.This swimsuit is made of a stretchy, polyester and spandex knit and should be hand washed and line dried.The top is a halter style with a tie at the back neck and a metal clasp closure at the back. The cups have removable, round, breast pads for modesty and shaping. The front of the top is lined in white, polyester knit fabric. The band under the cups has no real structure so there is no support. Large breasted women will find the top adequate in size but understand there is no support at all.The bottoms are high waisted and very plain. The red and white, vertical stripes are rather slimming and the effect is super cute. There is not enough spandex in the fabric for there to be any kind of smoothing or slimming so every lump and bump does show. The front of the swimsuit is fully lined but the back has no lining. Also, the coverage in the back is a bit "cheeky". Look at the product page pics. They are accurate. They are even a bit cheeky on the model, who has a small behind. They are much cheekier on me.The main issue I have is that the back of the bottoms becomes see-thru when wet. Only the white stripes are see-thru. This wouldn't happen if the entire bottom was lined but there is a lot of swimwear with lining only in the front.Still, I give it 3 stars because it will be cute on July 4th (as long as I remember to stay out of the water and wear a cover up on the bottom).

This suit looks great on me, I was worried that the bra top wouldn't fit my large bust, but taking out the pads did the trick. The bottoms fit better than I expected , I was very worried it would look like a diaper but they accentuated my butt and waistline. I don't swim so I cant attest to the fabric being see through when wet. Very cute overall
