we got a 40 year old pony last year, came already with full blown winter coat and it wasn't even winter. She was matted and we clipped some of the knotted up hair with horse clipper ( good ones, we had for 15 years and never had a problem with) and after constantly having to use new blades it was a struggle to clean her up. Now spring , she is not shedding like my other horses and is getting hot (not wormy or having cushings , just not shedding out due to old age). Again , we tried with horse clipper , 3 rd day and we were not making much progress. She is a very wooly pony. came across these Sheep Shears , shipping was awesome with this Covid19 virus, clippers came 10 days earlier than expected. First impression as I open the box, wow, they look awesome, sturdy and heavy duty, very well made. Had to run to the barn and try them and her coat came off so fast, we were impressed. They are not loud, run very smooth ,not vibrating a bunch and most important did not clog up on us. We haven't clipped her all the way yet because we still have cooler days. I will post a pic when we are done. But in 10 min clipping her , we got more hair of her than we had with 3 day regular horse clippers. She felt so good afterwards , she was trotten all happily back into the pasture. I am super excited about these clipper. Have another old horse (30 years) and can't wait to clip her with those too.

In the description it said they were for large, hairy dogs so I ordered them. I researched how to groom a Great Pyrenese dog. I thought I was ready to tackle our beast but I wish I hadn't. The shears are way too powerful for a person with no experience to use! I accidentally clipped her tail and she bled a lot! I felt terrible and now she won't let me brush her.

This clipper set is a beast, one of our mini horses had a really long and heavy coat of hair this year, and these clippers were amazing to use. I have several cheaper clippers that I tried before buying this set, and they wouldn't even get started on her thick hair. I am very impressed.

I only put one star cause I can’t choose negative stars. These were the worst sheers ever. It came as a single speed when it clearly says 6 speed. I contacted the company and they never actually addressed the issue, just kept asking for more pictures to prove the lack of a speed dial even sent me instructions how to use it. Ending with requesting a picture of the plug in, which has nothing to do with the speed dial. After weeks of waiting for the issue to be resolved I needed to get my sheep sheared. They didn’t even get half way through a single sheep before having problems. Got too hot in minutes, too dull to cut the wool, my sheep looked hacked with a chain saw, blades working loose, oil not even cooling anything off and not enough of it. I should have ponied up the money for a better product. I ended up having to finish with hand shears which was faster than this pile of junk.

Doggie Cut used the sheets to trim a very very hairy Australian Shepard. All other sheets bigged down but these were perfect.

Although it was easy to use, still learning the process of holding a sheep down while doing so!

Works well and is easy to use and trim our sheep.
