Hubby loves these for his hot sauce

I've ordered these and other brands several times from Amazon. I often get dented cans at a high price. Checking around for better deals I went to the Cento internet page ( Cento.com) and found a better price even though there was shipping fees by weight. I was impressed by the packaging from the manufacturer. Everything was bubble wrapped and the excess space was fille with air bags. I ordered other canned products from their large and varied inventory, such as 14oz cans of artichoke cups that I will stuff with artichoke stuffing. I ordered it on May 21st of 2024 and got the delivery on the 23rd. I recommend browsing their inventory. You'll fins all kinds of interesting deals. There doesn't seem to be a minimum.

I regularly cook red pasta sauce from scratch. (It's so easy and quick to do, and much fresher than bottled sauce, that I don't know why anyone would bother with the prepared kind.) I have even made sauce from "fresh tomatoes", although those efforts were messy and time-consuming, and not as good. I've read - and based on my experience, agree - that canned tomatoes are better than store-purchased "fresh". That's because canned tomatoes are picked when fully ripe and canned that day, while store tomatoes are picked green to survive packing and shipping and don't reach their full flavor.Among the many brands of canned tomatoes that I've tried, these are among the best. Because I haven't done any direct, one-to-one taste-testing I can't say that these are The Best, but they are excellent and the quality is consistent.

I’ve been a food scientist for 50 years and I’ve developed many high end and economic products. The difference between the two is the ingredients used. If you pick up a can at your local grocery store and pay anywhere between two or three dollars here’s what you get: the tomatoes in these cans are picked green by machine and are hard as rocks and then they are placed in the gas chamber of ethylene oxide and turns red, they then are diced or sliced or whole placed in the cans with the addition of citric acid or ascorbic and other flavor enhancing ingredients or chemicals. The tomatoes found in these cans are hand-picked at their peak of ripeness and flavor. There are other brands imported from Italy that are similar, but I believe these are the best and any recipe you use with these tomatoes will instantly become your favorite dish.

All the cans were badly dented upon arrival. I called the seller and he promptly returned my money and told me not to return them. I used one can and the tomatoes tasted great. Unfortunately, I had to throw the other cans away.

This really makes the best pizza sauce, just crush up the tomatoes and put on the pizza dough, I do add some basil.
