Good shoe
First and foremost: This is a neutrally cushioned shoe for underpronaters or people without pronation issues. Don't buy it if you normally purchase a stability shoe, or if your feet roll inward a bit while you run. It will feel awful and you will be sad.Due to an injury, I underpronate pretty severely on one foot, and have no issues with the other. As a result, the Gel-Nimbus series has always been very comfortable for me, and corrects my stride. The cushioning really keeps my foot from hurting after a lot of walking or standing, and allows me to run even though I have some arthritis in the foot I injured. I do miss the off-center lacing that previous Nimbus models had, but overall I've found this shoe to be of the same quality of the previous Nimbus models. I can take them out of the box, lace them up, and go running. No need to break them in or fiddle with the insoles. This is the first time I've bought the women's Gel-Nimbus, as I have very large feet for a girl (women's 10.5 or 11), and normally buy men's shoes because they have larger toe boxes (I have long monkey toes and can like, pick stuff up and use my feet kinda like a monkey...lol). Normally I can't find a women's shoe in the size I need in an actual store, and even online places run out. However, I lucked out this time and was able to get these super cute hot pink shoes in my size. :D I'm thrilled with the color. It's even more pink (the picture makes it look a little fuschia...trust me they're hot pink) in person and it matches my work out clothes. It's super exciting to finally be able to get a Gel-Nimbus in a cute color!

Not your typical Gel Nimbus
I have worn the Asics Gel Nimbus for years and this version is very different than other versions before and after it. Here are some of the main differences:Size - My regular shoe size is an 8 Medium and I typically go up one whole size in Asics to a 9 M and have just enough extra room for running. With the Gel Nimbus 14, I ordered a 9 M but it was much bigger than the 13s and 15s and I ended up returning them for this reason. If I were to have kept them, I would have needed an 8.5 M (of course, out of stock).Width - The toe box width is much narrower than the previous/future versions of the shoe. This was OK for me as I'm more on the narrow side, but for anyone with a wider toe box, you may want to go with a wider width for this shoe.Cushioning - One of the first things I noticed about this shoe is that they feel firmer underfoot than the previous versions. This did not bother me much because I prefer this over the typical Gel Nimbus "squishy" feel, but I put up with it for the support for it's underpronation support. However, for those who are used to the ultra plush feel, it may not be for you.Overall, this shoe is very different from the typical Gel Nimbus, but in some ways I was pleasantly surprised. I gave it a 4 because of the sizing being off.

The shoe with the heavenly fit is no longer so heavenly
I bought my 1st pair of ASICS Gel Nimbus shoes in 2011 and they were the best-fitting, most comfortable sneakers I ever owned. I thought I would never wear anything but ASICS from then on.I wore those shoes until they started getting holes in them. In the meantime, I shopped for replacements. I never found another pair of ASICS that fit that well, dispite ASICS' policy of keeping the same shoes, with updated exteriors, available for years, so runners could be confident that they could find the same well-fitting shoes every year. Great idea!Long story short, I wound up with this pair of ASICS Gel Nimbus in a half size larger than the 1st pair and it does 'fit', but not very comfortably. The footbed insert was stiff and irritated my feet in a few places, so I took the inserts from the old pair (the old inserts fit the new shoes perfectly, even though the old pair was a half size 'smaller') and the shoes were much more comfortable, but there are still places, such as seams, that rub or press on my feet, even though I've loosened the laces as much as I can. Also, Gel Nimbus shoes correct pronation (ankles that fall in). I have a slight pronation and my chiropractor told me I needed shoes to help correct it. The old pair did a great job, but the new pair seems to over-correct slightly. I'm very aware that the medial sides of my feet are raised and it was exhausting to wear this pair of shoes until I got used to them. While I was searching, I visited the ASICS website and found comments from customers, who complained that the shoes they had been buying for years no longer fit. It's clear that ASICS has changed their shoes and not for the better.I wouldn't recommend these shoes to anyone who didn't have a significant problem with pronation and ever then, only with reservations, because of the discomfort.Suffice it to say, I will probably never buy another pair of ASICS.

ASICS Nimbus does it again
When my last (and first) pair of ASICS Nimbus started to age it was a no brainer to try this newer version, and I could not be more pleased. I have a narrow foot with a high arch, and in the last two years have had to resort to "Comfort" brands to avoid foot pain. After a workday in dress shoes I need a good sneaker to head out for an hour of fast walking, my fav cardio; also, want a sneaker for weekends that looks at least okay and feels great. This ASICS GEl Nimbus, although pricey, gives me exactly what I need. This newest version looks a bit slimmer on the outside, which I love, but still feels very comfortable on the inside, plus it is available in NARROW sizing. A friend who is a regular B width says that regular width in this style also fits her great. Have no idea why this particular shoe construction works so well, but it just feels right, you forget you're wearing shoes at all, and no fatigue or aches or pains. I do wish ASICS would do a Nimbus in black or grey for those of us who prefer our sneaks to not make a vivid color statement - but as long as they keep this construction I'll keep buying.
